I love his "eyebrow" whiskers. He likes having his face rubbed with the stylus.

saw Sasha yesterday for a little dinner and catcup conversation. I let her know about Magda's return on November 25th, and the new condo -- she told me about Gil, Sonya and Steve quitting the club... not to mention Susie and M getting the boot. Chris was promoted to manager on Sunday / Mondays, plus Melissa and Longhair still bartend and serve respectively. I could quite easily fall back into being the club's Sunday "Norm!", now that the bald IKON boneheads have bailed on the place. Tougher to get there from Deerfield, but worth it, I think.
Bro came by to pick up his guitar and amp... I told him to pick up the rest of his stuff before 12/1, because I'd be moving. He just told me to leave it at the Momster's. I told him he'd have to work that out himself, and we argued a bit. I think a month's notice to find a place for his stuff after being storage over and above 2 years is more than reasonable.
Note, he only calls when he wants something, and then it's practically hourly voicemails.
I don't think that I'll pass my mailing address on to him, just let him know I'm in Deerfield.
Saw Chicken Little (any excuse for a/c instead of the muggy apt... semi-blah, but had quite a few fun moments. Not as good as Wallace & Gromit, but fared better than Robots. (Plus, Joan Cusack voice, who I adore.)
crescent moon is out with a single bright star right now... cool breezes and sunset reminds me why I dig Florida.

some buildings has to be demolished, simpler to start fresh rather than to
try and save the debris.

sunday morning snooze! A big ol' Halloween Pumpkin... we both reap the rewards of the time shift.

I've got water, not for drinking, but good to shower in...and since we use natural gas, it's hot!
power is a little weird, kitchen light comes on and the a/c tries to run at 1/2 power, but the rest is still deader than a can of spam. some neighbors are already at full power, and it looks like the office will reopen, power or not by Monday morning.
There is a mandatory 7pm-7am curfew, and violators can go to jail if they don't watch it. That doesn't seem to stop the cars out and about at 6am.

dreamt about being homeless, sleeping in a dumpster under old newspapers to stay safe from the weather.
just did a little mental exercise in moving my consciousness around my body and expanding it outward. I imagine that i can perceive things more clearly... the locations of other people on my block, walking driving and sleeping in their rooms. Temperatures vary from place to place, breezes and movements of small animals like squirrels. purest fantasy, of course, but it's cheap entertainment.
some pictures from post wilma walkabout. I took the fallen action figure, shattered glass was everywhere, like snow at the foot of the buildings.
a lot of animals didn't make it, especially birds.

you can see that I got off easy. news crews were all over, cnn, abc, fox, etc. I was in a few background shots... if you saw a scruffy hippie-looking giant in a red & black tie dye shirt and black knee-length shorts, you spotted a scottsquatch!
winds bent street signs too numerous to count, blew out windows and pushed over well-rooted trees. I've heard that there are 5 deaths so far, and I feel for their families.
I saw a guy with a cold soda-pop... I asked him where he got it... his joking reply was "the fridge, you can have my last one for $20"... I responded with "you know how much gougers got after hurricane Andrew? A 13-cent bullet behind the ear." His friend laughed, and I smiled when I said it.
I got a phone call from Wez, and she's doing fine, thank goodness, even has running water. nice to hear a friendly voice. she still has no power.
benefits of all the downed palms... free coconuts! finally, a use for my machete unrelated to home security!

power may be out in my neighborhood for the next 2-4 *weeks*. water should be restored in the next 2-3 days, hopefully sooner. flushing the toilet by loading a bucket from the canal, and filling the tank is no fun, but it beats leaving leftovers out. newt's water bowl holds exactly one 2o oz bottle of water. (no canal water for us to drink... not safe.) not sure what theoffice is going todo, i may fly with newt to so other hq while we wait for civilization to return. i'm palm entering this from max's on riverwalk, which has a generator and 3 for one drinks...diet coke for me! please send any email to scottobear@gmail.com,as my other accounts arefilling rapidly and are tougher to palm-check. love and luck to all, dear journal!
