Apr. 6th, 2010 12:27 pmQuite a trip to Roanoke and Salem last week. First time to Salem since January of '07 - Not a great deal has changed in the area since then... it is as enchanting as it was then - pictures under the cut.( peek for many pics! clicken to embiggen )

Mar. 6th, 2010 11:44 pmWalkabout was fun, but I'm a bit sore now - went on a little road trip to the Laughing Buddha - we found it quite by accident, while seeking a little getaway together... original plan was to hit Friendly's, but it was just as well - that turned out to be a Bob Evans!
Picked up some stuff at Michael's to decorate and craft with - some little picture frames, and the requisite knitting needles and yarn for BHK.
Played my first game of The Darkness, this morning, and it was a lot of fun - it's an old game apparently, but it's new to me. "Mafia meets supernatural" sort of shooter - not at all unusual, but a fun sort of romp.
Got some lovely prezzies from BHK today (by way of a legal research gift certificate from about a year ago), a stack of pocket-size moleskine notepads to carry with me. Nice to have something analog in addition to so much digital. Not a bad way to keep on top on my thoughts.
Discovered a game called Devil's Tuning Fork. I haven't fiddled with it too much yet, but so far, it looks beautiful, and a lot of fun. Basically, it's a game where you roam around via echolocation.

Jan. 28th, 2010 09:51 pmBHK has a new(ish) laptop - Windows 2000 machine, runs well, and quick - now we just have to bring all of the data over to it. (about 6 dvds)
Went to the job fair in Rockville- lots of good potential there... unfortunately, Sean was unable to make it - he's sick with a bad cold. I really hope that he's feeling better now, though.
After the fair, we sniffed around town - visited La Madeline and World Market. We picked up a number of goodies for valentines day gifts, and a few bowls and treats for ourselves.

far too many pictures from yesterday's walkabout - lots of fun with Larry, Chris, and BHK on a lovely autumn hike. Did a bit of geocaching, too - dropped off the meagan and paris bugs.
We also met Aaron Greene at the Cypress Swamp... he's a very talented photographer!

The flowers were from the neighbor up the road a few blocks - he's got a colossal garden that is really well maintained.
