dreamt about being homeless, sleeping in a dumpster under old newspapers to stay safe from the weather.

just did a little mental exercise in moving my consciousness around my body and expanding it outward. I imagine that i can perceive things more clearly... the locations of other people on my block, walking driving and sleeping in their rooms. Temperatures vary from place to place, breezes and movements of small animals like squirrels. purest fantasy, of course, but it's cheap entertainment.

some pictures from post wilma walkabout. I took the fallen action figure, shattered glass was everywhere, like snow at the foot of the buildings.

a lot of animals didn't make it, especially birds.

Yikes! Messy. But at least the buildings are still standing up, which is often not the case with an earthquake. I think the birds do better in earthquakes, though. Aside from having their nests knocked out of the trees (only a major problem if they have flightless nestlings in them), they pretty much escape the whole earthquake thing by becoming airborne at the first tremor. I guess windstorms are the avian equivalent of earthquakes.

I'm glad that you and Newt got through it okay, and I hope you get your utilities back soon.

That's true, though I suspect that a lot of these buildings will be razed to make way for more secure ones soon.

It looks like my next block has power now, so maybe I'll get full-time juice soon!
