Snoozed much of the day today, post road trip - in-laws came over, as did Mandy - Chris next door was feeling ill, so he couldn't make it. It looks like BHK has converted another person over to knitting addiction in Mandy! I suspect they'll be spending more time together in the near future. :)

Grilled pseudo chicken breast on the grill with spicy bbq sauce - in-laws brought over steaks, and Mandy did spaghetti - we all had awesome corn on the cob, zucchini sticks, bread, brownies, garden cucumbers with dip! I was surely packed full by the end.

Watched James May's Toy stories - the train set episode - all were interested save for mother in law. Doctor Who is done now, until the Christmas Episode - We liked this season a lot, I hope they keep it fun and fresh. Maybe we'll start having Amy Rose, Shaun and Sean over to watch sometime? The only regular SciFi watched now is Warehouse 13 and Eureka... As for fantasy, I'm not too amazed by Haven yet, but the next season of Being Human is airing here soon... that was fun.

Had the in-laws over for supper - cooked hot dogs (meat for everyone but me, veggie dogs for myself.)

Finally got the taxes out of the way - there was an issue with last year's digital signature - fortunately, it's now a pretty well known issue with the IRS - if you didn't file before a certain time, just make your AGI 0 rather than what was actually made, and it'll pass through with no problem.

Neighbor Chris looks to be mending ok - I have been wanting to spend more time with him - hopefully he's getting as much rest as possible - I know how mending from back surgery can be.

valentines breakfast at bob evans w/ nailles - it was tasty, but I think my order was the only one that wasn't goofed in some way.

Sean came over for a moment - brought us popcorn and a movie to watch!

The picture I took of my footprint in the snow looks weirdly inverted when viewed small.

BHK officially got her Vallies Day Gifts - a couple of handmade cards, a hat made of llama yarn (black, with knitted pictures of bunnies and weather on it. ), a llama pin made from fimo, and Style Savvy for the DS. If you want to visit her pretend-play fashion store, it's in Velvet City at the Chiffon Mall, Floor 16 - Green La . Buy lots of goodies , dear journal!

Speaking of goodies, I now have Little Big Planet (game of the year edition) for my ps3. Looking to game with me, dear journal? look me up as scottobear in the ps3 community.

I got new pair of Jeans for Valentines day from the in-laws - nicely timed, as one of my old pair of chinos tore about an hour before. Larry and Chris had Ice cream and cake for Chris's B'day, and we lounged about and watched some of the olympics.

So far today, all I've done is look for work, update my journal, and notice that my beard is just about all grown out, thanks to the recent snow.

BHK and I went on a little walkabout to pick up the mail and stretch our legs - hit the boardwalk where someone put together a nifty, albeit a bootylicious snowman - snow was piled up from the plows in the back area parking lot to about 8-10 feet.<tr valign="top"><td>

Walkies were fun, though I was more than a little sore afterward. Some stretching and a heating pad is putting me right.

Chris & Mandy came over for some supper - Taco salad (real meat for them, pseudo-meat for BHK and me) It was tasty, but poor Chris was knocked out from his weekend of meteorology - and he's likely going back to DC tomorrow for a few days at a hotel - expecting 10 to 25 inches feet more of snow tomorrow afternoon into the evening.

BHK looks like she's going to hit the sack early, and I think I'll join her, once I'm sure the phones are charged and the doors are locked, although, it's very unlikely anyone's coming in through the back door - there's still a couple of feet of snow on the deck.

Amy got a DS, though her sister is apparently fond of making off with it- I want to set her and BHK both up with Acekard2 and a good collection of homebrew software.

It seems that Christmas is in the air in this part of North Beach. BHK and the Nailles… not even thanksgiving! however, I don’t mind the music, especially if we get sugar cookies with red and green sprinkles, while watching Christmas Vacation. The Naille’s already have 5 or more trees up at home… BHK and I aren’t going to do a tree until at least after Turkey Day.
Dinner was with the in-laws – hot dogs on the grill, baked beans and smokin’ sweet bbq chips.
Jungle Speed yet again. Lion is my lucky animal… no bears there.

Growing my beard out again.... time for the "hunt for red october" look to keep my face protected from the elements that are coming. Oddly, Kathleen took today to do a mr potato head of my current beardo icon... serendipity?

Adam came over to visit last night. and we played a bit of dokopon before he was off to his church group meeting. No sign of andrew... he was going to come over for dinner, but double booked.

BHK and I continued playing a bit after Adam left and got some Papa John's pizza, because it was too windy, cold and rainy to go out to the grocery store or the chinese place.

Today was mostly spent looking for work, watching tv, and shooting skags in borderlands. I did take a brief launch outside with neighbor Chris to swap his car for a loaner while the window got fixed.... BHK made some amazing ravioli and pink sauce for supper... full after one bowl, with plenty for tomorrow's lunch and then some.

We finished watching Journeyman - it left on a high note, and I supect that it was cancelled just in time... our dvr is slowly draining of saved shows from 2007.

Mostly just working today - looking for a paying gig, reformatting Chris's computer, a last ditch effort to reconstruct it. BHK is working on her projects upstairs, too. I have the added benefit of listening to the Craig Ferguson Audiobook - his voice is strangely calm, and I get a vibe of Shrek doing the reading, rather than that puppet guy on the tube.

Tonight, we're doing quiche and asaragus - perfect for tonight's meal.

Got our first check form our renters in florida deposited... I guess it's official, now --we have renters. Just in time, too. It was getting pretty tight there for a moment.

I still can't get over how it's dark by 5:30 at night here.... Florida isn't that far, latitude wise, is it? I suppose it is, given the change in weather, as well as the sunlight.

William, Bryce, Dominic, Dalton, (and Donnie , but he was outside, and didn't come in) came over for a surprise visit and afternoon of Wii gaming. It seems that Bryce and William's own Wii was broken, and so they figured they'd swing by our place for some goofing around and general fun.

Bryce was the rare talent today - creamed us at Wii bowling and barely lost mario party 8.... not to mention being a surprise champ at Hey, That's my fish, and Labyrinth.

It was a pleasant, though chaotic visit... the kids were all very well mannered. They all just piled out of the house to go home to dinner.

(Damien wasn't here tonight, but he did check out haunted.scottobear.com for the Callis Haunted Adventure earlier this week.

In other gaming news, I won mario party 8 and blokus at the Nailles on Friday night -- the trophy is ours once more!
