Scotto's Wall Scrawls

Well, Back to life as a couple, rather than a trio- Bugah made it home safe and sound yesterday morning, We had the Nailles over last night for a little game night - mario party 8 and pizza. We went to their place today - played some Can't Stop (you can get the computer version here) Had some tasty grilled food with them tonight - dogs and burgers with corn on the cob a la BHK, and some awesome potatoes. We're going to have to recreate those once our garden gives us a few spuds.

Twisted my back a bit more yesterday, just carrying the pizza to the table... hopefully some stretching today will iron it out.

Not sure If I've mentioned this yet - but even if the new Land of the Lost movie totally stinks (which I doubt), I'm betting I'll get a cool sleestak toy out of it being produced.

Pretty straightforward day - Back was hassling me qite a bit, but we managed to get groceries and hit the post office -

dinner of spaghetti and veggie meatballs... and asparagus / garden broccoli in rice wine vinegar and garlic. fantastic! Good feed for whiel we watched "so you think you can dance"

As always, Happy Birthday, Oneeyedcat! We Love you and yours!

We slept in this morning, after the late night out... Chris and Larry stopped by to check out the garden, and bring us some biscuits and bacon... (I focused on the former, BHK, the latter, of course.)

While folding laundry, We watched the first episode of Primeval: Season 3 . Looks like it's off to a good start.

Later, Chris and Larry came back over, and we grilled, as is our thing lately... meat burgers for the in-laws, veggie-burgs for BHK and me. Baked beans, cole slaw, some of the most awesome corn on the cob of the season, and tasty mac & cheese. It's hard to diet with this much good food nearby.

BHK made key lime pie for dessert, and we watched the end of The Last Templar - it started strong, but petered out - I can't recommend it. I do recommend BHK's key lime pie, though.



I spent a little time working on the computer - we're having connectivity issues- it seems like comcast has trouble after rainstorms, especially.

Rough day, got walkies in - saw a wet puffball kitty, and cross-eyed orange under an awning.

Back to work - saw Franklin - he was very populare with a group of Asian tourists at the hotel. I got a moment to give him a little head-rub and visit before work, though.

Pleasant news of the day found my cousin Inger on facebook... amazing - last time I saw her, she was something like 7 years old - now she's a college sophomore! I'm looking forward to reconnecting, and hearing what that neck of the family has been up to in the midwest.

Additionally, we bought $4 worth of scratchers after work - we won $7... $3 profit! We promptly squandered our earnings on diet soda and corn chips.. with a few pennies to spare!

Some issues happening at the Condo in Florida - we may lost our renters over it - I hope not, but we'll see what goes down.

No news about Bro - he should be out of the pokey in about a month, Shannon and the Baby lately - I hope bro is ok - If the renters move out, I'm happy to give him the furniture at the condo to get started off again (a bed, dresser, futon, dining room table, some chairs, box o' drawers w/ dishes & utensils, tv and tv stand.

BHK made taster veggie-brats & kraut for supper - I'm full as a tick.

Hitting the sack early - no tv tonight, maybe just a little book time before bed.

Well, back is still being tricky, but I was ok enough to go gently back to the office!

Back is sore, and poor BHK has contact allergy / dermatitis - We're both just sort of shambling around for the moment, and trying to keep our heads together.

Fortunately, we're both in pretty good moods, despite my nagging her not to scratch.

We were blessed by not having to make dinner tonight - Chris and Larry came back from the camping / Environmental trip with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and they picked up Chinese food and a 10-layer cake for us to gobble up while they regaled us with tales of no electricity, mud and guides with Elvis sideburns.

We cooled our heels, and watched a little NCIS (and In-law staple that I don't mind at all) and then a really good Annie Oakley documentary on PBS. I have a new found respect for the lady.

Here, dear journal -  have a Pyewacket pic and a newton movie! Pye looking outside from my comfy zone on the couch, and Newton running around while BHK and I relax from the same area.

Day was a blur. Let's see -

We were up late last night - stayed nestled in bed until about 10am when we realized I had to be to the doc's by 11 in order to get my shots. (Doing it a week early, so I can skip next weekend - City-wide yard sale is something we want to hit early!

Got shots, and BHK showed me the menu to a local BBQ shack that she and the mom-in-law went to for lunch yesterday. I of course got the fried clams, which were very tasty. Most entertaining food was cornbread in the shape of a pickup truck - eaten before photographed. I'll snap the next one - it was very tasty.

We went on a little shopping expedition with the in-laws - K-mart for plants in the garden - bok choy, broccoli, cabbage - picked up some robin's eggs and nonpareils - kept the eggs (candy-coated, chocolate covered malted milk balls) and gave biscuits and non-p's to the inlaws. got more pot pie squares and tomato sauce for a future meal or two, as well.

Visited Compter Renaissance, and they really didn't have any tech that was newer than circa 1995. so much for me getting a memory upgrade or car charger for the EEE. While at K-mart, I looked into a power inverter for the love cube - all of the $30 ones were out, and the $80 was a bit too spendy for me.. not going to run a chainsaw or a fridge just yet.

Saw puppies in baby cribs again. Guy insisted that dogs I'm allergic to are hypoallergenic. Just because it doesn't shed much doesn't mean I'm not allergic.

Got home, rested a smidgen, and we had buffalo shrimp salad for dinner. I went into the other room to fix our router's security since Comcast reset it - noticed that they had the router to go to only one computer at a time. (ip locked) - fixed router, it' snow called "Green Glow" for springtime, and is passworded.

I got sick about 10 minutes after resetting the router. could be the shrimp, or just the fact that I overate - I scarfed down a lot of baked potato.

We did lights out from 8:30-9:30pm as part of an energy saving gesture called earth hour .

And now, the in-laws have gone home - We watched the Thomas Crown Affair . Not the best flick in the world - first time i had seen it all at once. Surprising that they're making a sequel next year, 11 years later.  Newton was a little trickster tonight and got all sweet at Larry, and then made an effort to smack the glasses off his face.

G'nite, dear journal! A little soda-pop to soothe the stomach, and it's off to bed!
