Just about a week before launch.. I really hope that work doesn't need to call me while I'm out of state. I have to remember to let Fatima know that I need to reschedule her cleaning.

Fined For Using Someone Else's WiFi

Got a Wu update from Danny - Doug sounds like he's taking to fatherhood well and is still has a focus on music. It's hard to believe that his daughter is already 10 months old! Speaking of a gamer's babies - (not Doug's)

I wonder what his THAC0 is?

For me to test on a sample machine later. Password bypass

from the sales website -

The casual RPG enthusiast will look at this creeper, chuckle, possibly buy it for their child, and move on. However, the avid J!NX gamer will inevitably flame this design with questions such as "Wouldn't a baby be level 0?", or "What is its class? Mage? Rogue?", or "My baby's INT should be WAY higher!", or "Does that high Charisma give my baby the ability to lead up to 15 henchmen?". We expect this. And that, my fanatical friends, is why we love you.

What would be cool is a Runequest baby jumper with all the hit locations and body part hit points on them.

I would just about die if I saw that.

Quick. copyright it, and submit it to somebody!

Is there a "mundane" translation available for this comment? heehee :D

Hehe Runequest is an old RPG from the 80’s. Its combat system allowed you to target specific parts of the body, one of the first, if not the first to do so. So you could aim for an arm or a the neck etc. Each part of the body had a specific hit point value, a percentage of a characters overall Hit points, do X many hit points to a location and that location was impaired or severed. The character sheet had a silhouette of a human figure with areas to write down your hp and armour in each location.

I wiki-ed it and looked for pictures but didn't find any pictures that described this---thanks for explaining it. I'm fascinated but I've never gotten a chance to play a game like this or D&D or any RPG.

And dude you aren't nerdy until you go to the land records office and get excited about looking at handwritten deeds from the 1920's---so um YEAH! :D

That reminds of the time I went to the UT law Library, I was writing a story and needed to do some fact checking, don’t remember what about now, anyway I got distracted and started looking at old case files and such which was fun, but the best part was finding that legal documents used the phrase “Simple Texans”, which I heard the local news use and was always amused by, but there it was on freakin’ legal documents.

GP is surely the go-guy when it comes to game rules and such... he's got a rockin' collection of tomes.

ah, your response is far more detailed than mine. RQ was certainlyt the first I ever saw to do it... plus, you could play a duck.

It was a pretty neat way of tracking body damage - sort of a human outline with different sections marked with how much damage you could take, and the effects of being wounded (in the foot, for instance)

Hmm that fined for using someone's wifi blurb is interesting--also interesting are the comments people have left. I wonder how had a contract with their internet provider that they signed and did not read---hmmmmm.

I love the Secret Life of Walter Mitty/Kitty---I wonder if another orange cat has an active imagination too?
