Well, rather than shipping me out of state, BSO (broward sheriff's office) was kind enough to host a chair, computer and phone for me out of the district office here, in addition to an air mattress.

While I'd still like a shower, at least we can get things rolling more smoothly from a remote HQ.

Looks like ECN may have power and internet at her house, so I may get to go hope early... if not, I'm overnighting.

The thing I hated most about Isabel was not having a shower for 2 weeks. When I finally escaped to a hotel near the Baltimore airport I flushed the toilet 20 times out of shear wonderment and joy.

Well we had water--at least my neighborhood did---we just didn't have the ability to get rid of the sewage that accumulated---I suppose that's why we didn't mind being around each other as much---the whole neighborhood stank!

Pyewacket on the other hand was just a kitten at the time--he had not been found yet---he rode out Isabel from the woods where his former own decided to dump him and his litter mates (and from his fondness and adeptness of hunting and eating bugs that's what I think he ate to survive). The week after I came back home was the week my neighbors found him and I adopted him! Everytime I think about that poor little black uzz ball outsid ei Isabel it makes my heart hurt.

The power came on like magic 45 minutes ago. I'm thinking of you, and I hope that things get going there soon. It was good to commisserate last night.
