Turtles do look a bit like igloos.
I think things will be financially back on track, finally. Quite a relief. Overextended myself a bit... fortunately, I have a little snap. I look forward to the removal of tension there.

Three great torrent sites to snag tv shows without registration
BTEfnet.com
TorrentSpy.com
TVTorrents.tv
Towerseek - beta torrent search
I can't seem to nail "Growing up Gotti", but all my other TV curiosities have been fed there.
Lately, I have the urge to play a stand up bass, and use the pointed tip to kill vampires that try and break up any jam session I might be playing in.
Best metasearch engine - www.info.com (searches Google, Ask Jeeves, Yahoo, Altavista, Overture, Inktomi, LookSmart, Overture, Open Directory all at the same time.), although the name makes me think of old text adventures.

I think it would be funny if we could get LJ added to the list of "blogophobic" companies, though.

Date: 2005-01-11 01:27 pm (UTC)As long as said employee is not giving away company secrets on there and they are not sitting at work writing it when they should be working, it has absolutely nothing to do with the employer what they do with it.
That has got me quite irritated.

Date: 2005-01-11 01:52 pm (UTC)I wonder how many blog-types have been fired for "I called in sick for work, when I was really just wanting to go to the zoo today" sort of thing?

If you start using the word "blog"..you are gonna make me cry. :D
I wonder if all of the people fired from those places mentioned actual company names in their journal before their complaints were found/read, or only mentioned the name after being fired...
I refrained from mentioning exactly what I did at my last job, because anyone with a Google clue could have then figured out the exact place I worked. Though, with even more clue...my daytime IP could have given someone the answer. You never know.

That's true... IPs can be pretty telling, unless you bounce through a proxy in some way.
Good Morning!

Date: 2005-01-11 02:51 pm (UTC)If I could remember how to play my old violin, I would hand over my bow so that you could have more weapons. ;)
I recognized a manager at a cafe I frequented, as someone from LJ. Not on my list, but I recognized her from seeing her icon here (mere 2 x's...weird), and her first name. I would pop in at her journal after that, and at some point she mentioned the cafe name and complained a lot. No biggie to me..though it occurred to me that she should be careful.
Later mentioned they had standing orders to throw out unfinished wine bottles each night. She was mad at them, and reasoned that it should be okay to take one home since it would be trashed anyway. Remember her saying "I'm passive aggressive that way", which to me, meant she knew she shouldn't.
Checked in weeks later, & someone had contacted the cafe within 24 hours of the wine bottle thing, pointed out her LJ, and they fired her. She complained much after the firing, and they contacted her again and told her to knock it off. She did.
But..went into my fav mexican restaurant, and suddenly found her working there. I had to check the scoop in her journal, and saw that she had named them, and complained about them, too. She didn't learn much. :P

Date: 2005-01-11 04:22 pm (UTC)I'm surprised the server-person complained again... I guess she figures the odds are slim that someone else will see it again. Me, I put my work grousing behind a friend's only filter, to minimize issues. :)
Violin! I don't think that I knew that about you, Ms. Multifaceted! All the better to stab vampires with!

Date: 2005-01-11 02:18 pm (UTC)I've found that a 43 minute HDTV show (about 300meg) will roll down the pipe in about 2-3 hours. I do most of my torrenting when I'm not at home or in front of the pc, and then do a little happy-dance when I next take a look.
