Eat a bagel and GO! was our battle cry today, as BHK took charge and we managed to get up and out of the house by 10:30... not a trifling feat, considering our collective penchant for the lounge-about-the-houseisms.

(bhk thinks not, but I think maybe so.) I really dig having a walkabout cohort.

(our other battlecry of choice is "We're Grown ups, We're Married, We can do what we want!- that mostly applies to ice cream dinners, however)

We hit vizcaya with great enthusiasm...Quite enjoyed touring the grounds with bhk(more pictures from my last visit in '03 on the vizcaya tag)

Green Dome, Pelican, red wall, stone boat, grotesques, stone boobies,spanish moss, pictures of a stalker european, sneaking into a secret door, quinteanos, swimming pools, fountains and foo dogs

highlights of the day were seeing a manatee in the wild by the stone boat, and holding hands with my beloved on the bench by the east gardens.

After vizcaya, we toured around and ultimately went to the swap-shop drive-in to see flushed away... very cute, but I think that I enjoyed the novelty of the drive-in even more than the movie. Very easy to sneak drinks and smooches in without an usher giving us any grief... we'll be going back again before sauntering to points north, I suspect.

I was pretty impressed by flushed away... they kept the look and feel of aardman, despite it being all cgi rather than claymation. cute moments and lots of fun bits, though I think that the setup for a sequel was a bit over-telegraphed.

Fatima likes the haircut... the response so far has been unanimously positive. Nobody has had anything even remotely negative to say about it.

Felix woos Whoopee - Felix the Cat has fun at a party at the Whoopee Club until the early hours of the morning. At home, his wife paces the floor while carrying a rolling pin. When Felix finally leaves at 3:30 a.m., he is so drunk that he sees the buildings sway with the music, and lamp posts and cars turn into strange creatures. When he gets home, Mrs. Cat has a surprise for him.

My sweetie's on a road trip with her buddy this weekend... I keep forgetting how small the northeast is compared to Florida... driving from DC to NJ to VT is doable quick as a wink, compared to just going from Miami to Tallahassee. It sounds like they're having a grand time - I look forward to the pictures they bring back.

I'm impressed at how well the last season of JLU was done... That's how a show should end... strong and solid, not wheezing out the last dregs of its life. Good job on the Hawkman edge and Legion of Doom stuff.

My favorite elements were Toyman yo-yo vs Killer Frost (or Toyman Nerf vs Parademons, for that matter) , Grodd - "Why speak ill of the dead?" and a use of the New Gods that are actually worth something. (I was never really a fan of that Kirby-crew, despite my fondness for Kirby-tech like Mother Boxes and Boom Tubes)

Random Shots from yesterday - A little orange girl-kitten and a manatee warning sign. no manatees at a good angle to photograph... next time. at the Dania beach boat club, near boomers. The kit was one of three stowaways from key west.. the dock master raised 'em up like I did with Newt, bottle fed until they could chow down more seriously. They're still a little skinny, but very active and playful.

Danny bailed on yesterday's lounge time... too fragged to hang. Maybe we'll get together today if he's up for it. Just as well, really, as I pooped out at about 9:30 last night, give or take. Just ran plumb out of gas. (actually, I was feeling a bit snoozy even earlier than that.)
