So nasty that it’s probably somewhat of a travesty having me
Then he told the people “You can call me Your Majesty!”
Keep your battery charged
You know it won’t stick, yo
And it’s not his fault you kick slow
Should’ve let your trick ‘ho chick hold your sick glow
Plus nobody couldn’t do nothin’ once he let the brick go
And you know I know that’s a bunch of snow
The beat is so butter
Peep the slow cutter
As he uttered the calm flow (Your mother)
Don’t talk about my moms, yo
Sometimes he rhyme quick, sometimes he rhyme slow
And vice versa
Whip up a slice of nice verse pie
Hit it on the first try
Villain: the worst guy
Spot hot tracks like spot a pair of fat asses
Shots of the scotch from out of square shot glasses
And he won’t stop ’til he got the masses
An’ show em what they know not through flows of hot molasses
Do it like a robot to headspin to boogaloo
Took a few minutes to convince the average bug-a-boo
It’s ugly, like look at you
It’s a damn shame
Just remember ALL CAPS when you spell the man name

And you know it like a poet, like baby doll
I bet she tried to say she gave me her all, she played ball
All bets off! The Villain got the dice rigged
And they say he accosted the man with the sliced wig
Allegedly; the investigation is still ongoing
In this pesky inition he gots the best con flowin’
The pot doubles, now they really got troubles
Madman never go *pop!* like snot bubbles

Extra life United – This was a triumph! I’m making a note here: Huge Success. It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction. #ftk #extralifeunited

I met a huge hive of wonderfully swell folks, and hope to see them again as soon as time allows. I’d really like to bring Allison with me next time. There were a few married couples there that showed it could be done handily.

image

It really pleases me that the folks were a nice cross section of the gaming community. Young adults, elders, all genders and races represented and behaving well together. The stereotypical 13 year old spewing epithets and slurs was nowhere to be found. No worries or talk about gamergate or the like… just people working together to help sick kids and to have a great time.

Arrived home safe and sound to my much missed Mrs. and the lads. There is something delightful about returning home and seeing Allison by the stained glass crab where we first met, years ago.

Tomorrow is the first day of my new contract with DOT / FHWA. The folks there seem quite pleased to have me signing on with them for a bit and I love the location. More or less to follow as I work there.

There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;

And frogs in the pools singing at night,
And wild plum trees in tremulous white;

Robins will wear their feathery fire,
Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire;

And not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it is done.

Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree,
If mankind perished utterly;

And Spring herself, when she woke at dawn
Would scarcely know that we were gone.

Finished my first week of out-patient… was glad to see Oliver and Marisa were there the entire time. Happy that Emily is done throughout, and am betting she’ll do great.Sam isn’t done yet, but is on out-patient, so it won’t be long now.

Good group overall – Mark, Crystal and Brian are out already, too.

An old man planted and dug and tended,
Toiling in joy from dew to dew;
The sun was kind, and the rain befriended;
Fine grew his orchard and fair to view.
Then he said: “I will quiet my thrifty fears,
For here is fruit for my failing years.”

But even then the storm-clouds gathered,
Swallowing up the azure sky;
The sweeping winds into white foam lathered
The placid breast of the bay, hard by;
Then the spirits that raged in the darkened air
Swept o’er his orchard and left it bare.

The old man stood in the rain, uncaring,
Viewing the place the storm had swept;
And then with a cry from his soul despairing,
He bowed him down to the earth and wept.
But a voice cried aloud from the driving rain;
“Arise, old man, and plant again!”

Undo the locks and throw away the keys

why was 6 afraid of 7?  because 7/8/9!

I was doing research on gigs, and BHK studying. 11-6:30 today, where the internet connection is reliable, and less distractions.

grabbed a bagel at panera for lunch break

researched a bit more and then we watched a guy doing a presentation on shadow puppets... a lot of fun!

Dinner at Ruby Tuesday - strike two after the first home run. We may be back, though, since our new Neighbor Philmena said that they have great mojitos.

Lyrics to current music - just came over pandora - I'd never heard it before on my channel -

You've heard of Ali-Baba
Forty thieves had he
Out for what we all want
Lots of LSD

He also had a camel
Stole it from a zoo
How he loved the camel
And the camel loved him too
(Oh, how the camel loved Ali-Baba!)

Ali-Baba's camel loved Ali-Baba so
No matter where he went to the camel had to go
Some say he's in heaven, but this I know is true
Wherever you think Ali's gone, his camel's gone there too

Crossing the equator, ooo, how hot is was
Poor old Ali-Baba cursed and swore because
He was so very thirsty, and everybody knows
It's horrible to walk for miles with sand between your toes.
(Oh, how the camel loved Ali-Baba!)

Ali Baba's camel turned 'round and licked his hand
He said, oh Ali-Baba, I surely understand
We must find an oasis and get a drink somehow
But hark, I hear the temple bells, they'll all be open now.
(Bleah bleah. Glorious beer, fills you right up with it... aaahh)

They entered for the races and the desert sports
There goes Ali's camel in his filthy cotton shorts
The starter cracked his pistol off the camels hared
Ali-Baba's camel wins by half a camel's hair
(Hey, Ali-Baba! Hey, Ali-Baba! Your camel loves you! Your camel loves you!)

Ali-Baba's camel had run for miles and miles
His tail was pointing backwards, that's how a camel smiles
But Ali and his camel they both were out of breath
They'd run so far, they'd loved so much,
They laughed themselves to death

Oh, gather around the campfire, sing a roundelay,
But don't sing out of tune, now. ('Cause eggs are cheap today!)
Sing of Ali-Baba, sing about his men
Sing about his camel, then sing it all again
(Oh, how the camel loved Ali Baba)

Ali-Baba's camel loved Ali-Baba so
No matter where he went to that camel had to go
Some say he's in heaven, but this I know as well
Wherever you think Ali's gone, his camel's gone to....

Not much to say - I'll part on ripple.

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come through the music,
Would you hold it near as it were your own?

Its a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken,
Perhaps they're better left unsung.
I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air.

Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.

Reach out your hand if your cup be empty,
If your cup is full may it be again,
Let it be known there is a fountain,
That was not made by the hands of men.

There is a road, no simple highway,
Between the dawn and the dark of night,
And if you go no one may follow,
That path is for your steps alone.

Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.

But if you fall you fall alone,
If you should stand then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home.

La da da da, la da da, da da, la da da da, la da, da da.

Today, I got sicker, bleah. Pains and stresses at an all time yuck factor.

Watched Old San Fransisco , assorted tv, and slept most of the day. BHK and I took a walk in the sun to try and loosen stuff up for about 45 minutes (or about a mile and a half) and while I think fresh air helps... I was more than ready to go rest afterward. For some reason, our water bottles tasted like onion.

A/C broken - house bounces between 80 and 95 degrees inside, depending on time of day. Fortunately, we have lots of ceiling fans, and the loft has a window-shaker unit, so the kitties, BHK and I won't bake too badly as long as we stay upstairs.

thinking about my sweetheart, BHK - some savage garden -

Maybe it's intuition
but some things you just don't question
Like in your eyes, I see my future in an instant
And there it goes,
I think I found my best friend
I know that it might sound
more than a little crazy
but I believe...

I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life

There's just no rhyme or reason
Only the sense of completion
And in your eyes, I see
the missing pieces I'm searching for
I think I've found my way home
I know that it might sound
more than a little crazy
but I believe...

I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life

It made me smile…

XANADU

A place where nobody dared to go
The love that we came to know
They call it Xanadu

And now, open your eyes and see
What we have made is real
We are in Xanadu

A million lights are dancing
And there you are, a shooting star
An everlasting world and you’re here with me
Eternally

Xanadu–Xanadu (now we are here)
In Xanadu
Xanadu–Xanadu (now we are here)
In Xanadu

Xanadu your neon lights will shine
For you Xanadu

The love, the echoes of long ago
You needed the world to know, they are in Xanadu

The dream that came through a million years
That lived on through all the tears
It came to Xanadu

A million lights are dancing and there you are
A shooting star, an everlasting world and you’re
Here with me eternally

Xanadu–Xanadu (now we are here)
In Xanadu

Now that I’m here, now that you’re near

I’m such a marshmallow. I heard this song earlier, and it’s got me all teary-eyed and happy at the same time, even if the music is cheezy, and sort of reminiscent of Snoopy. Thank you, Fred Rogers, thanks so much.

It’s you I like,
It’s not the things you wear,
It’s not the way you do your hair–
But it’s you I like
The way you are right now,
The way down deep inside you–
Not the things that hide you,
Not your toys–
They’re just beside you.

But it’s you I like–
Every part of you,
Your skin, your eyes, your feelings
Whether old or new.
I hope that you’ll remember
Even when you’re feeling blue
That it’s you I like,
It’s you yourself,
It’s you, it’s you I like.

“I Hope That Something Better Comes Along”

(Rowlf & Kermit–both voiced by Jim Henson–sing their laments about women after Miss Piggy just walked out on her date with Kermit)

(Dialogue Intro)
Rowlf: Lemme guess: broken heart, right?
Kermit: Does it show?
Rowlf: Listen…when you’ve been tickling the ivories as long as I have, you’ve seen a broken heart for every drop of rain, a shattered dream for every fallen star!
Kermit: Exactly. She just walked out on me.
Rowlf: Ah, typical. That’s why I live alone.
Kermit: You do, huh?
Rowlf: (plays piano) Yep. I finish work, go home, read a book, have a couple of beers, take myself for a walk and go to bed.
Kermit: Nice and simple.
Rowlf: Stay away from women. That’s my motto.
Kermit: But I can’t.
Rowlf: Neither can I. That’s my trouble…

Rowlf:
You can’t live with ‘em, you can’t live without ‘em.
There’s somethin’ irresistabullish about ‘em.
We grin and bear it ’cause the nights are long.
I hope that somethin’ better comes along.

Kermit: (spoken): Yeah, I know what you mean…

Kermit:
It’s no good complainin’ and pointless to holler.
Rowlf:
If she’s a beauty she’ll get under your collar.
Kermit:
She made a monkey out of old King Kong,
Both:
I hope that somethin’ better comes along.

Rowlf:
Ah, but what could be better than a saucy Irish setter
When puppy love comes on strong?
Or a collie that’s classy, a laddie needs a lassie,
A lover and wife gives you a new leash on life.

Kermit: (spoken): Uh, Rowlf, was that a new ‘leash’ on life?
Rowlf: (spoken): Oh yeah…sorry about that.

Kermit:
I don’t mean to scare ya, my friend, but I betcha
Come “Father’s Day”, the litter bug’s gonna getcha;
Rowlf:
The urge is righteous, but the face is wrong.
Both:
I hope that somethin’ better comes along.

Kermit:
Still, it’s fun when they’re fetching,
And agree to see an etching
That you keep at your lily pad.
There is no solution, it’s part of evolution,
Rowlf:
You’ll sooner hear the soles,
The little feet of tadpoles.

Kermit: (spoken) Ah, Rowlf, tadpoles don’t have feet!
Rowlf: (spoken) Oh. Sorry about that…. 2, 3, 4.

Kermit:
There’s no limitation to mixin’ and matchin’
Rowlf:
Some get an itchin’ for a critter they’ve been scratchin’.
A skunk was badgered the results were strong.
Both:
I hope that somethin’ better,
I hope that somethin’ better,
I hope that somethin’ better comes along!!!
