Regular day in ol' Scottoville, dear journal.

Icy, cold rain all day - bhk and I came home, and she had some tasty quiche for us to munch for dinner.

We both chatted a bit with Angie Goff last night via mogulus - I'm not sure if it's what I want ot use to strema newtcam, but it is a good little website, once you work out the kinks. Also so Kim Martucci on video as well - it was fun chatting with both of 'em!

It occurs to me that I haven't yet mentioned my Christmas loot. here is a brief list, likely in need of more detail later.

Here are some of the goodies I got this year, in no particular order, just off the top of my head:

2 new train cars for my engine - a flat freight and a yellow grain container
A miniature Stonehenge kit (will look good by the train)

best of the Thunderbirds on dvd (the puppet tv show, not the rock band)
a tissue box cover made of scrapbook paisley and clip art frogs

Newton sunning upstairs on Pyecam - he loves going up there from about the time I leave the house to midday, when the sun has passed, and the heat-beam has shifted.

Tooth is definitely damaged - filling and tooth itself have pulled apart, and the tooth portion is loose. we'll see what happens tomorrow. Pain is ok - still only at medium headache level.

BHK and I have really gotten into following the blogs of a few WUSA9's folks - Kim Martucci and Angie Goff, specifically. They're trapped in a horrible blogging software called pluck, but once past that, it's really fun to see folks that are brand new at the whole on-line journal thing... and puts a more interactive and social face on folks you normally only get to see in a one-way medium of TV. I've mentioned both Kim and Angie before once or twice, and they both seem to be swell people.

8/1 - Lughnasadh, the holy day of Lludd, Samhain, next! My next birthday is 6 months from now - and the last is six months in the past, give or take a few hours.

Dagwood night with the in-laws and BHK! Tooth was bugging me a bit, so I didn't consume too much.

Watched more of Black Magic with Raymond burr and Orson Welles. Not a terribly excellent film. A lot of scenery chewing, and a good excues to cuddle on the couch.

I think of a home ready to be robbed when it's August and I see a Christmas Wreath on the door... or one that's open to squatters.

Water on Mars: confirmed.

Laboratory tests aboard NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander have identified water in a soil sample. The lander's robotic arm delivered the sample Wednesday to an instrument that identifies vapors produced by the heating of samples.

The lander itself added, on Twitter, "FTW!" (I imagine and hope that's "for the win", not the other one... "f*** the world".)

Oh My Goff! -Emmy award winner Angie Goff profiled me, the kitties and Alan & JC's pup Chae on her blog entry today ! (Picture here from the entry... eek and awesome. BHK is going to tease me mercilessly - She'd better watch it, or she'll get She-Ra'ed.) The WUSA9 team all have blogs it seems, and the bulk of them are very entertaining!

Called Dr. Wolfe - cracked my back tooth, the one with the composite filling. I'm taking antibiotics starting tonight, and I'll be seeing him in a week for a fix-up. It only hurt a wee bit yesterday, but has progressed to headache level annoyance now. I wonder if the tooth will come out of my noggin before thursday... it feels a bit loose.

Maryland Renaissance Fest is coming up. I figure we'll go again, probably for one weekend, this time to just people watch, if nothing else. Scottish Weekend might be fun.

Got a postcard from the bro. He sounds better when he's sobered up. I'll be writing him sometime between tomorrow night and this weekend. It breaks my heart every time I think of him... I thought I was mostly over it, but I'm really still fairly tender about it at times. If luck enters the picture, maybe he'll get some good, solid treatment, but I won't get my hopes up.

His arraignment was supposed to have been on Monday - I wonder how long before public records will give me follow-up info? He's got a calendar call on 9/2/08 - I guess I'll know more then.
