http://www.whowouldbuythat.com/images/lawngoose.cop.jpgEeek! Ebay auction.

Got a ceramic goose?

Want to dress it up like a cop?

I thought so. (Note - the costume is the only thing being sold, as it does not come with the goose. I suppose you have to supply your own..I suppose it would fit on a flesh and feathers goose, too, if you've got one?)

Apparently she makes a lot of different outfits - has dutch children's clothes, a nun, a doctor and a few others.

Sort of surreal...Is this a market that I've just never heard anything about? I'm not sure if I should admire her handiwork, laugh, or run in fear of the animals dressing as would men.

{update} The Goose is talking to me. I can hear him. He knows all the laws I've broken and have never been caught for.

*breaking into a cold sweat, as eyes become beady... brushes the chalk 'M' off of my shoulder.

I woke up this morning thinking I needed to spice up my sex life. I have always had a thing for geese in uniform. Thanks scottobear. The outfits are currently selling for up to $14.00. A bargain at twice the price.

My pleasure! Just make sure the geese are toys, or consenting adults.

*rolls around on the floor cackling hysterically*

*pulls self up to computer* *brushes off shirt*

*sigh* there is a house in town. they have two ceramic gooses, err geese I mean, and she always dresses them up. They also decorate heavily for Xmas. I am always amused. I think she must make her own goose clothing though......they look crocheted. *shrug* maybe she has yet to here of the treasure trove located on Ebay.... I could slip a printout in her mail box.

*giggle*

now this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1275534372) is just too damn sexy for words. I might have to go get me a ceramic goose after all.... thanks Scotto! I am seriously amused for the rest of today!!

I hope my last post i just made didn't sound sarcastic. I reread it and thought, hummm, I might need to clarify that.

I am serious about being amused. that is hilarious!!

ya know this makes me wonder about those ppl who display their gooses nakked? or as they say in areas of Alabama, nekked. I wonder if they can be charged with indecent exposure of poultry?

I've seen whole flocks of geese... naked as jaybirds.

... and I thought my mother had flipped when she presented me with a coat she'd made for my dog (to keep him warm through our harsh canadian winters, naturally. the dog is now better dressed than me). perhaps there's an untapped market she should be supplying?

Yes I saw them being sold first 2 years ago, then it was slightly bigger last year, hitting a home shopping channel and some magazines. The goose comes with 6 or 12 seasonal outfits usually. Its pretty funny, and even FUNNIER to see them on ebay! Who knew!

I want one now. :) (Actually, I ALMOST got it once cause I thought of dressing my macaw up in the outfits but luckily I came to my senses. THANK GOODNESS I no longer work with penguins or I would have gotten it to put on penguins. We usually use 'dog costumes' on occasion in the past for certain photos...like put antlers on the king penguins for a christmas photo, or little raincap for the heck of it, etc. We were terrrrible. :) )

I'm a regular reader of Who Would Buy That (http://whowouldbuythat.com), and I love it. People report in the oddest things... I've done my share of research for them, too. I discovered a whole listing of Seattle earthquake "memorabilia" that they posted, and they listed WTC "memorabilia" as well (until it got pulled from eBay).

I've never bought anything on eBay, but if I ever do, chances are it will have appeared in "who would buy that?" first!

keeno! I agree, it's amazingly good... I keep forgetting about it, then when I get bored and surf my old links... there it is, waiting with more tacky kitch.
