Is it me, or has the Simpsons not all that funny anymore? I've been watching it a little recently... and the last three Sunday night shows have been *really* weak. Either I've grown too far from it's humor, or the humor it had just isn't there anymore. The writing seems very weak to me...

On a similar note... can we go back to one cartoon network? Or, can I get both? I like power puff girls just fine, but I Want to see some Herculoids, classic speed racer... All the cartoon network ever seems to show is its own hubbub. Has anyone come out with a 'Hong Kong action' network yet? I think it'd fit well with the 'romance' 'western' 'mystery' 'sci fi' themes... Sometimes I just want to see some guys hopping around muttering..."You killed the master, Drunken Tiger scorpion style!!" Hyah!

Personally, I miss the Gummies the most. That was truly a well done cartoon.

I've seen all of the other classic cartoons like Bugs, and Daffy, Sylvester and Tweetie, etc. but The Gummi Bears was the richest artwork and story line by far.

*grins*

I did enjoy the gummies too... I think I lean to the old max fleischer superman cartoons though.. very nostalgic for me, even though they were made decades before I was born.

If you get digital cable in your area, Gummy Bears is on Toon Disney.
The best part of that channel though are the Gargoyles episodes.

How about the earlier Popeye and Mighty Mouse cartoons, the early Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, and Mickey Mouse, or even the ones that featured sing-a-long songs or nature and orchestral settings with bugs and nimals to classical music. Then there is Woody Woodpecker, Foghorn Leghorn, Deputy Dawg, Yogi Bear, Droopy, the little peguin whose name I forget at the moment, Muttley, Scooby Doo. Also Felix the Cat and Betty Boop cartoons and the little country mouse that wore the hat.

Other than gummies Bugs Bunny and Sylvester and Road Runner as favorites we can not forget that there were a number of cartoons portraying cats. WHy couldn't they ever come out on top. Why do the dogs, mice, and birds always win?

As for TV shows, I forgot Rin Tin Tin, Lash Larue, Zorro, The Rifleman, Bat Masterson, Wild WIld West, Cisco Kid, Roy Rodgers and Dale Evans (throwing up), Gene Autry, Rowan and Martin, Andy Griffith Show, Route 66, and The Outer Limits.. And, how could we forget Father Knows Best, Maverick, The Virginian, Jim Backus Show, Mr. Magoo, Lassie, Tennessee Tuxedo, The Singing Nun, Gentle Ben, Gidget, The Patty Duke Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Lou Grant, Adam 12, TJ Hooker, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Stalag 17, Davy Crockett, Tarzan, Batman, Danny Thomas Show, Bob Newhart, Ted Mack Amateur Hour, Groucho Marx's You Bet YOur Life, The Three Stooges, Little Rascals, Mod Squad, The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, Carole Burnette, All in the Family, Chico and the Man, The Jeffersons, Laugh In, Andy Williams Show, The Smothers Brothers, Green Acres, Petty Coat Junction, Peter Gunn, The Saint, Monty Python, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color, WIld Kingdon, The Shari Lewis Show, Lawrence Welk, Dennis the Menace, F Troop, McHale's Navy, Marcus Welby M.D., Trapper John, MASH, Ben Casey, Charlie's Angels, Beat the Clock, Sunset Strip, Dan Tana, Joey Bishop Show, Sea Hunt, Police Story, McCloud, Rockford FIles, McMillan and Wife, Co,ombo, Starsky and Hutch, Banacek, Lavern & Shirely, Welcome Back Mr. Kotter, Happy Days, Room 422, Mr. Ed, Superman (the TV show).

Plus there are a few others out there that I can picture but can't quite put a name to, they are buried so deep in the dark recesses and nooks and cranies of my mind.

:)

That reminds me of coming home after school, eating a bowl of Lucky Charms, and watching "The Disney Afternoon." It was a ritual. :)

I remember the episode I cried on too. The female bear (I don't remember her name.. ) fell in love with this ghost who was the captain of a ship. At the end they couldn't be together anymore because he was being freed from being a ghost, so she was crying and waving goodbye to him.. that's what got me started. :P

oh, that is sad! I think I know the episode your talking about, actually...

Weird thing is that I remember the voice actress for the bear was sally struthers, but I can't recall her character's name either!
