Am I the only one from whom the phrase 'tea room' especially 'Russian tea room' conjures up images of wacky 60's TV personalities getting into situations?

Major Nelson, Major Heely... Lucy & Ethel, Darrin and Larry?

I've not seen the Patty duke show, or any sign of Dobie Gillis in ages, but somehow I think there were weird tea room episodes of those, too...

A friend and I basically crashed the Russian Tea Room in NYC-- :) We just walked in, looked around, took the elevator upstairs and looked around on the empty floors all we wanted. No one said a word, and we saw great stuff-- and took pictures :)

The doorman was cute too and had a wonderful Russian accent. How authentic! But we didn't see any celeb's except for ourselves, but that's a longer story :)
