Thanks, firpo!

Answers to yesterday's test.

1. The word "snausages!" said the proper way will make me bust a gut laughing. *FIB*

Though, it can make me chuckle. The old commercial of the dog poking his head out, exclaiming "SNAUSAGES!" can make me laugh, albeit briefly.

2. One of best high school friends was killed by a blow to the head from an iron frying pan, as a result of a car accident.

Brent Ashland. Coming back from a camping trip, freak accident. pulled up short behind another driver, slammed on his brakes, and the skillet brained him. That was that. He had a lot of potential, dumb way to exit.

3. I've accidentally poured cheetos in a bowl, poured milk over 'em, and ate a spoonful like cereal before realizing my terrible, terrible mistake.

Always pay attention to what's in the pouch on top of the fridge. even when you're six years old. Seriously.

4. I say thank you to automatic doors and street lights when they let me pass.

It's an unconscious response. Preprogrammed manners. Plus, I saw Herbie the love bug as a kid, and Buddy Hackett talked about a street light that didn't like him. I appreciate robots helping my travels comfortably and easily. When the machines take over, I'll have a position of authority.

5. I've been published in both Popular Science Magazine and the Unknown Armies Hardcover RPG rules.

Yup. Livejournal actually got me in PopSci (11/13/2003), and UA has me in the credits as a rumormonger. (published August, 2002)

Lakini Malich has made a startling discovery that will change the way the world views the brain-rotting laugh vacuum Garfield:

If you remove Garfield's thought balloons, it goes from an unfunny comic to a rather sad, poignant story about a lonely man who has wasted his life talking to his cat.

He offers a second collection:

here's some more, chronicling Jon's spiral into depression and eventually madness. It's what Jim Davis wanted.- via cruel.com

I wouldn't exactly call it "wasting" a life to be alone and talk to a cat :D I'd call that AOK! Althogh I am a bit worried about the verbal abuse he seems to heeap on poor dear Garfield.

yeah, he's a pretty mean cat-talker! I agree, gabbing with the kitty isn't such a bad thing, but his mannerisms are nutty.

I've always found this strip uncomfortable. The cartoon is not too bad but either way they're fairly third rate compared to others. Hell at least the dog in Beetle Bailey got to bite people.

I will confess.. I actually liked garfield a lot the first few years he was in existance.. I even had a number of the paperback strip books.

I wasn't a big fan of heathcliff, but Bill the cat was fun too, speaking of orange kitties !

Heathcliff---bleh they ripped off a Bronte character name and made it suck. Boo.

I loved Clifford and Marmaduke though. Big dopey dogs r' fun.
From: [identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com
me too... plus, Clifford was *Mammoth* as opposed t marmaduke's mere horse-sized.

I did like the Dog facts at the end of old marmaduke strips.

Oh dont't get me wrong, I love Garf's pithy comments. But the martyr deal and the way Jon gets so "in your face" has always creeped me out. I used to draw Garf and put him in outdoors situations. He's always in a catbox bed or some cut off situation in the strip. I hate that! Kitties need freedom !! I'm going to have to get a scanner over the summer so I can post some of my stuff to Coloring Book. I love the idea of that LJ but can't post any of my stuff :p My puter upgrade only got me a medium brain so I try to be picky about what I keep on it. Unfortunately images are out.

By the way if you do that with Get Fuzzy you get a guy that looks like he's on a bad acid trip.

Not to worry, I'll still be crossposting here til they don't let me no more, no reason for you to RSS. It's all just an experiment... A silly silly experiment.

A girl I went to high school with got beaned in the back of the head by a portable TV that was sitting in the back window of her car. Didn't kill her though. Just made her a quadraplegic.

If I were a less sensitive person, I'd make some snarky comment about TV being bad for you.

It seems like a lot of folks are hurt by unsecured items!

Ryan got beaned by a CD drive that'd been in the passengers seat when a guy in the oncoming traffic lane decided the middle of a group of oncoming vehicles was a good time to pull out and pass. Cars scattered, Ryan had the poor wagon up on 2 wheels, and the sideways shift was enough to toss the CD drive up in the air.

All involved were alright, if a bit shaken and sore.

just say no to cheetos for breakfast.

What was the last thing to hit you in the head?

I've been thinking about this for a while and I really can't remember, which only makes me think I really was hit in the head..and hard!
