It's a little flattering when folks use my icons as their own... Newtie Blah-blah is the latest one discovered in use by someone else. (Sadly, I've had to ask her to remove it, due to reasons of senitment and copyright.)

Grabbed the latest episode of Lost after getting high marks from a few people I trust... haven't watched it yet, but have heard that it focuses on Eko, Charlie and the monster.

Also, Doctor Who will be airing on the Sci-fi channel starting in March. Funny how they changed their tune... I guess Battlestar Galactica's success alone couldn't float stinkburgers like Mansquito and the bulk of it's original programming.

Retrievr, a new service from Flickr, lets you search for images by drawing what you want the image to look like. I've been having too much fun.

Also, FlickrFling takes RSS feeds and dynamically assigns Flickr photos to them

Talked to the home office of CompUsa, and they're going to fedex the part from Kentucky... Big brain should be ready for me by Tuesday night. Yeah, yeah, I'll believe it when I see it. The boss also said that they'd toss in some gigs of memory in at cost, and install 'em for nothing.

a strong cold front will move through south florida friday night and saturday morning.

breezy conditions behind the front on saturday will subside through saturday night as high pressure builds over the eastern gulf of mexico and into south florida. along with mostly clear skies...the winds may relax enough to allow for patchy frost and temperatures in the mid 30s over sheltered areas near lake okeechobee early sunday morning. this includes glades and hendry counties...as well as inland sections of collier and palm beach counties.

those with sensitive tropical plants that experience damage from temperatures below 40 degrees may want to take action to prevent
any damage from the cold weather.

Is it ok for people to take icons you've created? Of your pet? It seems weird. Anyone who reads you enough to find Newtie should know that he's not just some random cat...he's your baby. It's supposed to be cold here this weekend as well. I like it!

I "think" I remember seeing somewhere that you can complain to LJ abuse if someone has taken an icon you've created - if you don't want them to use it.

After noticing others leaving notes in their user icon area telling others not to take their personal pet's icons, I did the same in mine. I would not take an icon of someone's children, or their significant other...so I don't want them taking my pets. Besides...when my dog/cats pass away, I would be pretty upset to suddenly bump into my pet's icons in some random journal. :P

My first baby boy died after 21 years and that was hard enough--that was the only reason I never got another cat or animal. But Pyewacket being the scamp tha the is was very persuasive at worming his way into my heart.

Yes I wouldn't like it at all if someone used my icons without telling me. It's pretty rude. I have icons that come from icon journals (with credits on my info) or my own made ones. And definitely I would feel uncomfortable if not angry if someone used one of my family members.

It is a wee bit weird that they snagged it without commenting, and I suspect that the person who's using it has no idea how much I care about that little orange guy.

I don't find it too upsetting, but I haven't given a lot of thought yet.

My parents told me it has been chilly in Florida where they are. Bums me out, because it's been 75 or so every day here. We're totally befuddled by how warm it has been this winter! The temp dropped last night... and it goes down to 40 or so at night...but during the day...it feels like what warm Florida winters usually are. SUXORS. :P

Silver lining is that I should be out walking in this weather, instead of slothing in the house. :P

Oh wait...another silver lining! Raccoons killed the heater (aughhh), so I have no heat. Several space heaters, though...but those freak me out and I race around checking them constantly so that I don't burn the place down. Ex-neighbors of mine had that happen when they were sleeping! :P

The batty bats are near my house! When I would drive home from work at night, I could see all the peeps on & under the bridge waiting for them (many people every single night!), and the bats would stream out for dinner.

It's neato if you wait under the bridge for them to come out. There are so many that it looks streams of black ribbons in the sky!

They all went home to Mexico for the winter though. I missed seeing them up close this year. :/

The last Lost was good, Eko's backstory is cool. And the monster kinda starts things leaning back toward the freaky inexplicable, which I also like.
