breakfast...
Nov. 30th, 2000 09:46 pmI'm curious... what comprises the best breakfast in bed?
I like french toast with powdered sugar and maple syrup... some scrambled eggs, cold cereal, and orange juice with coffee....a flower with the morning paper to top it off, while my love snuggles in next to me....
other folks like cream, jam or other condiments with french toast....
what's your ideal breakfast? (in bed or not)

Date: 2000-11-30 06:56 pm (UTC)Maybe a turkey burger.
Cheddar cheese, melted.
Very grilled onions.
A bit of ketchup.
Potato chips smooshed on top of the burger and onions by the bun.
A cold Diet Pepsi, with ice.
That's my perfect breakfast, in bed or not.
Or I could totally go for that right now.
I'm drooling.
Damn, I'm hungry...

Date: 2000-11-30 07:13 pm (UTC)When I was in the hospital, the breakfast I chose the most was bacon, eggs, with a buttermilk biscuit and hot tea. That's one of the things I was allowed to choose for breakfast because of the diet they had me on. It wasn't all that bad, but I'm not that much of a bacon eater.
If a person's going to really eat breakfast, I'd say steak and eggs, with hashbrowns, toast and orange juice.
My perfect breakfast is usually a sandwich, chips and coke.

From:Breakfast.
Chorizo, scrambled eggs, salsa, tortillas, some extra fresh cilantro on the side with some horchata and Pepsi. And a McDonald's hash brown. I don't know why but they have the best greasy/crunchy ratio.
I've never had breakfast in bed, usually my sweetie and I eat a midnight snack or dinner in bed, and if I got up early enough for breakfast I wouldn't want to have it in bed, I'd like to be awake, showered, dressed, and sitting across the table from John, watching him eat waffles with extra butter and cold cereal with whole milk.
And I wouldn't spill *anything* on my shirt!

Date: 2000-11-30 11:25 pm (UTC)Ideally, I'd have either eggs (cooked in the manner that makes them look like two, big, suns looking up at you -- mm-mmm), with corned beef and toast with strawberry jam, hot chocolate, orange juice, and a banana, or a big bowl of Lucky Charms or Peanut Butter Captain Crunch. No cut flowers for me -- I like them better still in the pot, but you can color the breakfast tray with the Sunday comics. And to top it off, a ray of brand new sunshine lighting up the room.

Date: 2000-11-30 11:59 pm (UTC)Best Breakfasteseses
My favorite breakfast in bed would be something simple and not too messy. I could go for some fluffy buttermilk pancakes with butter and real maple syrup. Add a big bowl of sliced, fresh, assorted fruits and a carafe of hot coffee - scrumptious! The flower and paper is certainly the icing on the cake and makes it an event to remember!
My favorite out-of-bed breakfast is this: 2 eggs over easy, crispy bacon, grits and toast with mayhaw jelly. It's so bad yet so good!
Great question, SB! Thanks for asking it!
Re: Best Breakfasteseses
Date: 2000-12-01 09:17 am (UTC)mm fresh fruit seems to be an element I overlooked, and would absolutely love to add... fresh strawberries or blueberries and banana.
what is mayhaw jelly?
