Due to power outages caused by Hurricane Wilma, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department urges all City residents and visitors to use extreme caution when driving on City roadways. The police department has increased the number of officers on duty to handle issues arising from Hurricane Wilma. The department will operate on elevated staffing levels as long as necessary.
The police department discourages residents from driving on the roads unless it is absolute necessary, as traffic hinders the City's clean-up efforts.
