Newt Profile - 10/9/04
Can't go too long without taking his picture! He was hyp-mo-tized by a light outside.

Transformers
Not robots in disguise.
Scary, humming crackling things that probably toss off white and blue sparks when I'm not looking.

Transformers 2
A bit further back on the walk. Humming is all but imperceptible here.

Alleyway, the other side
I usually apporach the riverwalk from the other side, but the alleyway was well-lit and unoccupied so I figured I'd travel the backroad a bit. Everything in this neck of the woods is barred off or locked tight... it's rather intimidating after nightfall.

Take/ Basi?
I have no idea what this graffito means.

A&E Trolley
Starting on October 8th, there's a trolly that will take you up and down the art & science district, free of charge. Friday nights, and all day saturday, running every 10-15 minutes. I may take more advantage of them next week... but for now, it was just cute to ride along. I got an unforseen shortcut home (saved me a 9 block walk, and I talked to the conductor who was from Quincy, MA. Nice Guy, though he hasn't broken the New England mindset to the more bohemian South Florida, yet.

singer
random snap of a gal singing at latin fest. She was really belting out some number I never heard before, but wouldn't mind hearing again. Halfway between torch song and rhythm-pop.

AOL Latino
Wow! If you thought AOL "en Ingles" was lousy, just wait until you try AOL LATINO!!
MUY ETHNICO!
MUY PEYO!!
Seriously, I got free wireless access while standing next to the aol booth. If the commercial network isn't secure... how much do you think they care about customer security?
They had some deal if you promised to use aol latino for a year, you could have a fair bare-bones system with a 17 inch monitor and color printer (dial-up) for $300. I could see where that would make a lot of people happy.
but still.
AOL. THOU ART DE DEBBIL!
Erm
EL DIABLO!

Newsroom Cafe.
Mostly for scale. note the 3' tall bird graffiti on the left.

Birdie graffiti
Kind of cool. Somone drew a picture on glue-backed paper, and posted this doorknob-height bird on the side of the building. I've been seeing more and more of these style postings around town... I guess it's easier than doing it on site, and getting caught? |

Date: 2004-10-09 08:08 pm (UTC)How can such a dump be allowed to survive? it makes the flo look like a 4-star.
The bird certainly adds zip to an otherwise shoddy joint.

I have no idea what the hell that's about...but I would seriously love to find out.
