Stephen King is going to retire from horror writing? Hm.. I'm proud of him for moving on, and admitting when a well is dry. Plenty of other genres to write for.

My brother can't make it tomorrow... change of plans.

Looks like my trip to los olas is going to be either postponed or solo. A rework is on order. Perhaps schedule a meeting with Robyn and talk about the website... tag a few contacts. Maybe hit a few museums, and a movie.

going to lay down for a little nap...

May joy and innocence prevail.

I think that some of Mr. King's better writings are from when he's strayed from the "horror" genre. The Body instantly comes to mind.

It'll be a good departure for him.

I agree. fresh perspectives and style will be much more rewarding for him as a writer.

I find most of King's non-horror writings to be his best work.... I just read "Black House" and, well, was less than impressed. hopefully, he'll travel down the "misery" path in the future.

you can always collect 3rd printings, or later.. those still have the nice stories, and are mass-marketed, so they'll still be popular.

Third printings! I have nearly everything SK wrote in HC and PB in first or second editions/printings. I am missing Carrie in the first printing HC (I have first printing PB), Cujo HC (I have first edition PB), and the Dead Zone in paperback….. A few more I can’t recall without consulting the database. I am actively collecting second printings and "flat signed" books. My only "flat signed" is Misery 1st printing, I paid 300 dollars for 2 years ago will be worth 10 times that if he quits writing. I am sad to see him go to, but it will definitely help my collections over all value. Like the article says, I will believe it when I see it.
