I was lying in bed napping... dreaming, but conscious and aware of my body, and the sounds around me (cat snoring, neighbors bickering, etc.). Suddenly, my body (no, not my body) started to vibrate, like I was jumping out of my skin. My hearing started cutting in and out, like there was a short circuit in my brain (sound, _no_ sound at all (so odd that!), white noise, sound-- but not like there was a problem with my ears). An eerie voice said "HEY" three times, which I could hear clearly, regardless if I could hear what was around me. I wanted to pursue the call, but some logical part of my brain alerted me to the possibility that I might be having a stroke or something... so I "came back." It wasn't a dream-- I'm a lucid dreamer... but it wasn't at all normal, either. I still wonder who or what was calling me. There were other things odd about the experience, too, but that's the gist of it.
wow, that gave me chills! i have had an experience along those same lines, but minus the "hearing." I was once dreaming that I was in an old church, and three ghosts were walking towards me. As the ghosts passed through my body in the dream, I physically felt the oddest sensation, it was a little tingly like what you described, but also i was consciously aware of my muscles tightening and my body contorting. when i woke up i was still feeling ... can't explain it... "weird." it was such a vivid dream (most of my dreams aren't vivid at all) that i still wonder about it.
but the fact that you actually heard something - that's just freaky!
to add to the comment I just left - at around the same general time period that I had that dream, a couple of other odd things happened. i began feeling unexplainable "whooshes" of air behind my head as i sat at my computer. i have since tried to duplicate the "whooshing" by being aware of when the A/C or heat cuts on and off but have been unsuccessful. immediately after these whooshes i'd get the strangest feeling that something was standing very close behind me. my fiance also recently told me that around the same time I was noticing these things, there were a few nights where he had come to bed - he sleeps facing the door to the bedroom - and there were a few nights where he'd glance at the door and swear he'd seen someone walking away from the door. a couple times he even went out in the hallway to double check.
these things all stopped around the time I started talking openly to my fiance about them because it was well, slightly freaky. :) so this means either one of two things. (1) he was doing the stuff and didn't want to get caught, or (2) whatever might have been doing it just wanted to be acknowledged and moved on.
anyway sorry to ramble, but it's one of the strangest things that I've ever experienced. :)
I stumbled out the door this morning for work, and noticed a flash of colour on Oliver's windshield. A red rose had been slipped under the windshield wiper. No note, nothing identifying where it came from. So I've concluded it must have been the rose fairy (after eliminating a few suspects), and am just happy to have such a lovely flower! Thank you, rose fairy, wherever you are! =)
Still have no idea who it was...no one ever stepped forward!
