Yep, I'm a progressive, but I'm not a pacifist, and I do want some sort of carefully considered and focused military action to disrupt the Al Quaida network, but I'm overcome with dread now that I see how things are spinning out of control....

$40 billion dollars just to start dealing with this problem; just two weeks ago I was pissed because they were going to spend $8 billion on some worthless space-based program.

It's too depressing to be called irony.
