I saw those freaks on PBS last week too. Keeee-ripes! I'll be the first to admit, I love a man in a real kilt (I practically begged Joshie to buy one in his family tartan when we were in Scotland), but the "workman's" Utilikilt is one of the silliest things I've ever seen. I'd like to see that dread-locked dude show up for his first day as an industrial welder in a skirt! If he didn't first get sent home by the foreman for violating OSHA regulations, then he'd surely get stuffed into a hydraulic press by his "admiring" coworkers within an hour or so.

And anyway, how you gonna keep your long-johns clean when you're crawling around on the shop floor in a dress? Not to mention the assorted wounds you'd receive from flying debris and sparks...oh, and flash-burn too (possibly in your "nether regions")! Ouch!!

Besides, for the $147 you'd pay for one fancy skirt with hammer-loops, you could buy FOUR pairs of double-knee reinforced Carhartt utility jeans.
