I miss living within walking distance of the beach - any weather is a great time for a walk along the beach. The most magical thing I know was walking on the beach at night on a very warm summer night - trailing my feet in the water and seeing with amazement phosphorus glowing in trails where the water eddied - i just had to strip off and jump in to watch my movements make softly glowing sparkly greeinsh white afterimages! It still gives me goosebumps remembering it!
I am fortunate, thanks... do you live near any nature? River, Mountains, a nice set of woods? I've found taking a walk can be nice, regardless of the terrain.
i live in the city am with a bf who has near panic attacks if there is not a skyline and i grew up in the country and around "town life" so i know what there is and i have done my fair share of traveling so i know what is out there and thus i am jealous and miss it terribly.
it's not quite the same taking a walk in the city... you must look both ways, be constantly aware of those around you, and do all you can to block out the noise. the most i have to hope for is the suburbs someday. though the bf really could see living in NM or AZ, the only area of the country he says where he would be okay without skyline. so there is some hope i suppose. ;?)

San Diego had red tides when I was down there...they are saying it is the strongest they have ever seen....

yeah.
sounds like perfection... i would love to have a home close enough to the beach like you do so that i could do things like that... :)
good for you in not taking for granted what you have... :)
