12 hours after reconnecting to DSL.
over 900 ports scans on my firewall. Geez... is it because it's summertime, and all the kids have time on their hands?
Ah well... I'm glad the sucker's there. ZoneAlarm. Schweet, and free. Neener neener, script kiddies!

Zone Alarm, you say?

get it. it's free, and you'll appreciate it , believe me.
Hmm....
I dont know if you have USB xDSL or Ethernet.
I have Ethernet and I love it. Threw up a router, enabled NAT and disabled port forwarding for all ports. The only ports that open are the ones I establish sessions with from within. I scanned my self from work with Nmap and could not find any ports open. If you have the USB modem I would go ahead and ditch Zone alarm and throw up a Linux box with IPchains or IPfiltering.
If you have the Ethernet modem then go ahead and spend the extra money for the Router. Then you can network as many pc's as you want and have a nice LAN party with your self! :)
