looking here - http://www.livejournal.com/stats.bml

Check it out.. lots of neato info.

I notice that gender is a real issue with LJ.

Are males or females more likely to maintain journals?

Male: 60926 (35.4%)
Female: 111246 (64.6%)
Unspecified: 38713

Interesting breakdown by age, too... I'm really in the minority as a male born in 1969.

I wonder if I dare do an age/sex poll... maybe if I keep it in decades, it'll be all right?

yikes!

I was born in 1962....i feel really old...hehehehe!

I was surprised to see that the majority of journals are in California...I hate being part of the crowd....

I challenge more Countries to join in....and for more people to PAY for an account for crying out loud...geesh!

Wow! That's neat, I didn't know such a page existed. And I'm quite surprised at the age breakdown...I figured that the age of the majority would have been college age/early 20's. I didn't realize there were so many younger people on here. I guess that explains why so many of the random journals I've looked at have been teenagers.

Innnnnteresting! :)

yeah, it makes the random feature really skew to a different group than I normally read... which could be a good thing!

I've got you guys beat.
I saw Two Women with Sophia Loren the year it came out.
And there was an age limit on that movie!

Hmm... well, that was released in what? '62?

I didn't know they did age limits before the MPA devised the ratings system!

I think it was '61. If I recall, I was still in High School when she recieved the academy award for it, and that was in early 1962. And it was the local governments that put age limits on movies then. I had to see the movie in Pasadena, where the age limit was 16. Alhambra, where I usually went to movies, put the limit at 18.

well, you've provided me with enough clues to calculate your age, now. :)

but I shan't and leave it at 'older than me'. :)
