you're far better travelled than I am. I prefer the Appalachian Trail, especially in the mid-atlantic and southern states, where the mountains are higher, and have some great views. North Caroliina's section from the Nantahala River to the Georgia border is about my speed, as it gets sort of tough (for me) just north of there. Really beautiful countryside there. I would love to visit alaska sometime for a good vacation of Hiking.
