Little Known Scotto Factoid.
Jun. 12th, 2001 07:19 amI like to wave.
In the car, on long road trips I really enjoy waving to kids in the back seat, especially if they wave back.
When I was a kid I used to wave at planes when they passed overhead.
To this day, I wave at graveyards, as I ride past. I suspect ghosts don't exist, but if they do, I think they'd like to be acknowledged with a friendly gesture every now and then.
If I'm sitting on the front porch, reading or whatever, I wave to the odd passing car, neighbor or not.
If I think someone's watching on the webcam, I wave a quick hello.
As a side note -
I want a picture to go with this sound.
I've been looking for about a half hour, and haven't turned up anything yet.

Date: 2001-06-13 02:12 am (UTC)Findings? Truckers nearly always wave back. Same with most vehicles in the winters (more likely to be locals, and we're a pretty friendly lot). Tourists depended on which direction they were travelling in. If they were heading into Alaska, they had that dazed, deer-in-the-headlights, I-can't-believe-I-just-drove-several-thousand-miles-over-roads-that-strongly-resemble-roller-coasters-in-hell expression, and wouldn't even notice our frantic waving. If they were leaving, they were cheerful and alert again.
To make a long story short (too late!), I like to wave, too! =)
