There are many types of ramen designed for fast, convenient preparation. All contain the same basic ingredients: flour, water, salt, dough conditioner, and seasonings/spices.
Nissin Chicken Ramen was considered to be the first fast cook (instant) ramen in the world. Nissin's Top Ramen brand was introduced in the U.S. in 1972. For many years, this product was known as "Oodles of Noodles" in the Eastern U.S. Due to it's popularity, "Oodles of Noodles" was reintroduced throughout the United States in 2000.

Date: 2001-05-22 07:42 pm (UTC)Time to gross you all out!
Take one packet of Chicken Mushroom, bring to a boil and add the following to the soup:
Half a head of ice berg lettuce ripped into ity bitty teeny tiny shreds.
6 of the hottest packets of Taco Bell hot sauce you can get (taken directly from the nearest Taco Bell is alot cheaper then buying the stuff at the store since its FREE at Taco Bell anyways)
2 slices of Bread (The only type I ever use or eat is 100% whole wheat. It just tastes alot better) that have been ground into a pile dust like particles.
1/4 of a bottle of really hot RED tabasco sauce (The green stuff is ok to use also I suppose, but DAMN it tastes funky 2 me. Yech!)
Now for the tricky part. I measure by eye instead of using actual measuring instruments s it may be a lil off...
1 tea spoon Garlic powder
1 tea spoon onion powder
1 tea spoon seasoned salt
1/4 of a stick of butter or margerine
When its done you'll know it, trust me, and if you cook it too long then you'll never get the stains off your stove top. Trust me on this ok? lol
NOW! Drain most but not all of the fluid out and be carefull as the lettuce and the bread crumbs may try to escape (they're fast too!).
Put in a big mixing bowl cus otherwise the next part will make you dinner fuse to the sides and bottom of the pot!
Now pull out a box of mac & cheese (I prefer white cheedar myself) add ONLY the cheese packet powder stuff. NOT THE NOODLES!
Add the appropriate amounts of milk and butter(or margerine), and finnaly sprinkle with (litterally) HALF a bottle of KRAFT Parmeasian Cheese. mix it all up untill the cheese is all melted, and start saying: damn that stuff tastes good to me!
Please note: I am the ONLY person who has actually tried my recipe and not regretted it, everybody else who ate it (including unwilling family members it was literally forced upon) said that it tasted horrid or just flatly puked.
Anyways, that my fav type of Ramne, and yes I am a very demented cook. >=0)

Hmmm......
Date: 2001-05-23 07:03 am (UTC)Campbell's used to make a low-fat ramen (the noodles weren't fried) that was pretty good. Can't find it anymore, though.....so these days, the only "ramen-like" food I'll consume is Fantasic Foods "Chicken-Flavor" cup o' noodles. Toxic yellow noodle soup with dried peas, carrots, and peppers.....ramen for vegetarian wussies like me.
