Well, I don't know... I posted a pretty decent post about 9am, but LJ burped on me again, and the post was lost to mankind.

When am I going to learn to write in notepad or something, and then transfer it over? I've been burned like this, off and on maybe 4 times...If I can remember, anything more than 3 lines is being processed in another editor first, so I don't lose anything. Wow, was I mad, about an hour ago. My mostly worthless news links survive, but original text dies. Ack.

To add insult to injury, my typing is set to major errors. Anyhow, I have the story idea down, but the words wl have to be re-spat. just a pair of paragraphs, but it's work that's lost forever.

Well, I'll reconstruct it today or tonight. or not... maybe something new.

Something that has saved my LJ booty for some time is just before you press "Send", select all the writing you wrote, press Ctrl-C (Copy) and if it doesn't send, at least you can just paste it right back and press "Send" again.

That stinks about your post! It's happened to me, too -- and with comments, as well! I write stuff up in Notepad first, and sometimes, just keep a running journal all day and post the whole shebang that night. And I have this fear that something horrible will happen to LJ and everything on it will be wiped, so all the stuff I want to keep, I save to disk.

LJ seems to have been having problems for the past few days. I haven't posted for this very reason. I've left comments for my friends, and I usually get an error message... a no data contained message... I initially blamed it on Netscape, but everything else works for me, so it's gotta be LJ. I'll just wait this one out.

yup... it looks like it's doing a little better, but still irritating and spotty here and there.
