I slept about 4 hours last night.... I was working on tweaking my system, and slumber just didn't want to take me...Before I knew it, it was 4:30 in the morning. I'm going to hit the sack early tonight.

example - -An ideogram used by some Indian tribes in the south western US, called bear track. Its meaning is a good omen.

anyway, thanks! i just went through and if i found a symbol that looked cool, i checked out the meaning behind it and if it had a meaning that meant something to me, i put it on my list of considerations.

Neat idea... I'm still not sure what I'd choose as a symbol, permanently affixed to my body...

I'm always fascinated to learn reasoning behind other folks doing so. :)

if it has a meaning that i think will always be a part of me (my zodiac sign, the women's symbol, the pride triangle/ the earth sign) then i don't think i'll regret getting it. and if it's something i need to know ("i control my destiny" on my left wrist keeps me from cutting it, the sign for venus on my right wrist which is the hand that holds the blade, representing love for others and love for myself), i think it'll help me. those are my reasons. i don't know which of the others i'll get. i'll have to think about it.

I have so many Native American bear claw things - mostly jewelery. I love bears - even though they are carniverous, there is something nurturing and warm about them.

Yes, that's the heart line. You see it a lot on fetish carvings (I have a couple of Zuni fetish bears, too!)
