flashing back on more old TV. Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, Monsters, Tales from the Darkside, Night Gallery.

Why do I like such drivel? I dunno. I can't say as I was ever scared from an episode... but there was certainly some weirdness. Rod Serling is especially cool... I could see him and Jack Webb fighting oddities, transdimensional space nazis, whathaveyou, Men in Black Style.

no gore needed, just a case of the "WHA??!?" works fine.

Current shows, (and I bet I get smacked around for this) like Buffy, just doesn't cut it, in my opinion. The New TZ was ok, and the New outer Limits was not too bad, either.

The old Twilight Zone has been my favorite TV show since I was a kid. I always thought it showed freaky truths about human nautre -- the one where a group of neighbors turn on each other when they think they're about to be bombed so they say all sorts of horrible things about each other, then find out that the bomb was a false alarm; the one where the guy with the thick glasses is obsessed with reading books, is the sole survivor of armageddon, goes to the library to pile up all his dream books to read, and then accidentally steps on his glasses; the one where an old, reclusive lady spends all her time avoiding death, knowing he can come in any shape or form, and unwittingly invites him into her home (Robert Redford -- know the one?). I'm in heaven when they do the marathons. They used to be on the 4th of July, but last year, I think it was on Labor Day.
