Why is it that so many people think that lies or half-truth is a good alternative to just being cool and being straight with folks? A friend of mine is pregant, and doesn't want her ex husband to know about it, fearing he'll feel bad. I don't know, but I think that once he hears about baby showers, and everything, it's going to be hard to hide she's having a kid. I'm from the "just pull the band-aid off, and be done" school. What's worse is that I feel obliged to help by not bringing it up at all... oh well. no biggie, really.

I'm no caunselor or anything, but I think people have to lie sometime because they don't know who they are, and are afraid if they be themselves that people will regect them. So they just try to act like the people they hang out with to be excepted. Oh ya I hope your friend listens to you and just tells him it is better that way *from experiance*

Thanks. I don't imagine she'll take my advice, but I think your take on it is probably right. Rejection is a price a person pays for being themselves. (it's also a price they pay for not, sometimes) I've decided not to bring it up, but I'll go with the truth if asked or prodded. Just won't go looking for trouoble.
