Pat on Butt--I assume that if a pat on the butt is not sexual harrasment, that a sock in the jaw doesn't qualify as assault?

Like the times in class when I wouldn't do the reading, and would mention stuff I'd read elsewhere, with the idea that it was really original and insightful, only to find out it was actually included in the assigned reading.
You'd think I'd have learned by now.

I'm used to thinking of the ACLU as the good guys, even when I don't agree with them (although it must be acknowledged that there are worse out there like, oh, the people causing the problems). My parents were charter members of the chapter in Augusta, Georgia. So this is hard for me to process right now.
