I love red maples--there are a few in my neighborhood, but they don't quite thrive. It's a struggle to keep things like that healthy in the Sonoran Desert.

I can believe it! do you have lots of nice cacti there?

Oh yes--but not in my neighborhood, which is filled with green. Cacti don't thrive in the forced wet environment that my neighbors need to keep their lawns up. I'd be alone if I xeriscaped, but to be honest, I like having fruit trees and a vegetable garden. =)
