Yesterday, we went to DC to check out the cherry blossom festival - post rain they were at about 70% bloom, still lovely - it was overcast, made for mediocre photography, but I did get to visit the Jefferson monument, and the FDR memorial (which is probably my new favorite .... giant, tells the story well, and beautiful. I'd never been to it before - didn't really know much about it.)

A ton of spam journals have added me recently... had to go through the console and ban_set them.

I had a spam journal called manualclipcard add me a few days ago, but for some reason I can't get ban_set to rid me of it. I keep getting "Unknown account: < name of account here >" in bold red letters every time I try to use it. I wonder if it's a browser issue?

I don't think so. I followed the example in the admin console reference exactly, and tried it with copy-paste of the username when typing it in didn't work.

The oddest thing is that I used ban_set successfully a couple of times when the command first became available (during the great serial-adder freakout a few years ago, I think), and I just tried it with Firefox, and that doesn't work either, so it's not a browser thing.

I wonder if Sluggo is haunting my new computer?

That's quite possible. if "ban_set jerkyguy" in the console doesn't work... I don't know!

odd, I just successfully blocked him - manualclipcard shows up on my "ban_list from scottobear" console command.

truly bizarre... I have a gut feeling that it's related to the dash/underscore thing, when they turned all underscores to dashes, about a year ago.

I've found that the console works fine for my other account, which is underscore-less. But on the other hand, the console fails to recognize the account manualclipcard (also underscore-less) when I try to rid flying_blind of it, and says nothing about not knowing flying_blind in that instance.
