It's a-snowin' today! Not sure why images are currently unavailable, but clickthroughs should work fine.

It started about 6am, and continued throughout the day.

Pretty nifty stuff... flickr now has a halfway decent photo editor built in! The freebies are all I really want, so it's golden. (I suspect that I'll use color fixing and cropping the most.)

Writer's Strike has finally hit us in the recorder... looks like all of our shows are in repeats already. I guess Netflix will start earning its keep for a while!

I'll be missing House and The Office the most - I suspect BHK is feeling it most from Ugly Betty.

BHK picked up Big Brain Academy and Elebits from the rental place... I really dig BBA... Elebits, not so much. I'm glad that we get a chance to "try before you buy" on the Wii, as Elebits might've gotten snapped up due to the very cutesy aspect of the game.

I suspect that BBA will be purchased sometime soon... I like the little brain-stretching minigames.

So far my strengths and weaknesses are:

  • Identify (Visual-themed questions) - ok
  • Memorize (Memory-themed questions) - worst
  • Analyze (Reason-based questions) - ok
  • Compute (Math-themed questions) - ok
  • Visualize (Logic-themed questions) best

Which seems to follow with my other games of a similar ilk for the psp.

"Elebits might've gotten snapped up due to the very cutesy aspect of the game."

That's usually why I purchase games.
I'm gonna sell my old Sega Genesis (loved that they had a ton of cutsey games), and my Nintendo 64. My fingers are too bad to play with controllers anymore. :(

I really want a WII, because I can use my whole arm/hand, rather than just playing with my fingers. I'm not messing around with calling stores constantly to see if they have one in, though. I hope they get their act together soon!

The wii (I almost spelled it Whee) still does some button-pushing or trigger-pulling here and there, but the motion sense stuff is my favorite. I like being able to play pool by pulling and pushing the cue stick!

It amazes me that a year later, there's still a shortage of the devices... .sometimes I cynically wonder if it's a deliberate thing, to keep the sales rolling for "rarities".

I read an article a few days ago, with Wii execs stating they can only push out something like 1.8 million (or somethin') boxes per month, and can't go faster. They're having numerous breakdowns on the assembly line. They feel they've screwed up by underestimating the popularity of the Wii. Huh?? Not getting that, due to people standing in line for hours and days, each time new game boxes come out.

After reading the "we underestimated" part, I seriously wondered if they're just covering their tracks due to a possible, deliberate shortage. They're missing out on Xmas sales. Or are they? ;) I'd like to see the numbers. Would 2 Xmas opportunities bring in more money, OR would more money come in due to keeping customers interested due to shortage, for 2 years?

I'm not sure... BHK bought mine for me for our anniversary in October, originally planning to get it the x mas prior!
