Crazy early morning wake up today... I had trouble getting out of bed again... it's too comfy cozy under the covers with the kitties and BHK.

Dear Fox news. You've confirmed my thoughts about you again and again, but this is totally ridiculous. (via ecto - warning, justifiably foul language in the text) - Fox news making a claim that Fred Rogers was evil. Not as a joke, or ironically. Fox news should recognise evil... it sees it in the mirror every day. Reporting like that is beyond just evil.. they live in a world of lies and madness.

Fox News’ argument for Mr. Rogers being “evil” goes like this: he told two entire generations of children that they were “special just the way they are.” Then, in what can only be described as a despicable lie, the Fox News anchors claim that that’s precisely where Mr. Rogers left off. He never taught children anything except to merely exist in a static state of selfish self-entitlement. And that’s why my entire generation is comprised entirely of rapists, murderers, welfare recipients and drug addicts.

There are a lot of reasons to be offended by this, but the biggest reason is that Fred Rogers was the kindest, most inspiring and most loving man to have lived in the last 100 years. His love for children and his passion for their education and well-being were absolute and unhypocritical. Watch this clip from Mr. Rogers’ testimony to the US Senate in 1969 to increase funding for PBS. If you disagree with Mr. Rogers politically, that’s okay, but there is no mistaking the sincerity of his passion for child development.

In other news, millions of years ago there were human-sized penguins.

That Mr. Rodgers thing is just crazy. Why attack a guy who tried to good in the world? Just cause you think it well play well with you're ignorant audience?

Oh so true.

How dare anyone tell children they are special without demonstrable proof? The FOX guys are, from all appearances, goons, but I'm more irked that a university study apparently tried to make a poor guy in a sweater the fall guy for a declining work ethic. But then maybe that's a misinterpretation. I could look it up, I suppose, but since it's foolishness either way so i'll refrain..

LOL...so Mister Rogers had all mighty power over every child who watched, as opposed to all elders, siblings & family friends who had a hand (or not) in bring up kids. Riggght.

I saw people talking about it a couple of weeks ago, but didn't watch, because I already know some FOX shows & hosts are loony tunes. But now that I've watched it, it really seems like the hosts were being a bit tongue-in-cheek? Their tones & facial expressions seem to represent that, and they're smiling and chuckling at times. They seem to be mocking the so-called scientific proof, but not really saying so. Maybe I'm missing something that others are finding to be angry about?

The penguins are the best. I would let one live with me if I didn't think it would eat me.

Oops...and I should mention that one of the male hosts at the end DID seem like he was taking it seriously. But the other two didn't seem to be doing the same throughout. Dunno..would need to watch it again. I'm in "too many people are sucky nuts" mode, so started to zone out. :D

I'm just glad that Mr. Rogers will be remembered fondly, and has done much good. :D
