random photos from yesterday. Sanibel is beautiful, and the shells were pretty dang amazing. we chitty chatted with weez and boop, met weez's folks, and spent a nice period beach combing before the sun went down. on the way to and back, we saw all sorts of wildlife, especially birds like blue heron, spoonbill and other "storky" sorts, as well as a eyeload of alligators sunning themselves on the banks of the nature sanctuary. the was a fire burning way off in the north... I wonder if it was the cane fields that get slashed and lit periodically? it was a sweet smoke, and pretty particulate.. we both have slightly rough throats this morning as a result. As always, the journey was as swell as the destination. Bhk is a really wonderful traveling companion.

I love beach combing..I could really be a beach bum.
I wish I could meet Wheeze and Boop too. They sound like really nice people.

Sanibel really is beautiful, Ding Darling is just wonderful. I figured you'd enjoy that a lot. It's too bad you couldn't go kayaking which I know bhk loves. http://www.tarponbayexplorers.com/home.html We would spend hours kayaking through the refuge and mangroves. It was the best. Sanibel really is a killer place for all sorts of outdoor adventures and walkabouts!
