Pics from Britta's Birthday at the Pub - Matt, Lance, Helen, and Britta.

Had a nice time yesterday... before heading to the pub, m_c & I visited outdoor world and window-shopped a bit... scoped out the boats (fishing / Kayak / pleasure), and I really liked the look of one of the pontoon skiffs. If I lived on the river or a canal, I'd seriously consider getting it to tool around in. There was a lot of nutty taxidermy there... I was reminded of the Ace Ventura line "What a lovely room of death".

After the Bass Pro Shop, we hit the pub early.. got a little spinach and artichoke dip, and chitty-chatted until the rest of the gang showed up.we had a good time, and I happy to meet everyone. Our end of the table had Matt, Tina, and Helen, and the conversation was very nice. I was pleasantly surprised to meet [livejournal.com profile] helenangel in person, and [livejournal.com profile] alectoerinyes seemed to really dig her b'day with us all. We actually got goodie bags filled with candy and little toys! one of the party favors received was a Snap deck... curious, since I just found out what snap is from [livejournal.com profile] eryx_uk about half a week ago. Matt lives in WPB, and was kind enough to zip me home at about 1:30am, otherwise I'd have had to hit the ol' northbound tri-rail at 10pm. He's a nice guy - went to HS with Helen, now a pilot for Jet Blue. Very knowledgeable and a warm-hearted sort of person. I didn't get to talk much with Lance, and the Librarian crew on the other side of the table, mostly because the music was a little loud, and the chat-dynamics didn't allow for much talking more than two chairs over. I think the next time I do something like that, I'm going to try a "shift seats every 2 hours" sort of thing, just so I can absorb a little bit of everybody.

All in all, it was an excellent day.

Today, my plans are movies about the sea. Pirates of the Caribbean, and IMAX: Deep Sea 3-D.

Until later, dear journal!

SkyMall for Scott's birthday

Both of these caught my eye on a flight back from Oregon. Much better than a silly old pontoon skiff.

The Hydrofoil Water Scooter
Unlike other watercraft, this unique hydrofoil frame allows you to skim across water simply by hopping gently up and down, propelling you as fast as 17 mph (more than four times faster than some world champion freestyle swimming speeds).

And to protect your new scooter you would need:

THE REMOTE CONTROLLED SHARK.
A full 2' long, this unique robotic shark has a full-range of motion to replicate the smooth, sleek swimming of one of nature's most efficient predators.

hello! There are about ten turtles in the pond out back, and it always makes me happy to see 'em.

Thanks for popping in!

I'm all for hanging out sometime soon!

Honestly, I don't think a bad picture of you can be taken. All the shots of you and your hubby I've ever seen are great.

The turtles are popular. I like 'em, too. :)))

You still have xmas stuff out. Hee! I probably do somewhere around here, too, so no biggie!

Though, I dislike that 3 neighbors surrounding me -- keep their Xmas tree lights up outside for 8-10 months out of EVERY year, though. 1 of them is next door..and the other is across the street caddy corner. Gets on my bee nerves a little, because I have to look at it constantly. :D

Just a little candle! ;)

I love how it smells... cinnaminish. If I had my druthers, I'd probably keep little white fairy lights on my porch year-round.

"Just a little candle! ;)"

Ha..that made me smile! :D I'm just messing with ya! I probably have things left out from multitudes of holidays. In fact..I have a hollow, chocolate chick..in one of my cabinets. It's from Easter --- um...8 years ago, or so? But the chick is so cute, all covered in printed alluminum!

I would like fairy lights up, too. I call 'em twinkle lights. They weird James out, so I don't do it. if I had my own little home office, I would so do it.

aww.. lucky little chick! spared a chocolate life!

I suspect he wouldn't fare as well here... I get some serious choco-hungries sometimes.
