Very Keen Clock.

I caught an internal monologue going, and realized I'd been ignoring it... or more likely, I had a few going and one that was going stopped to listen to another that was sort of mumbling in the corner of my mind. I'm not usually one for multitasking, but I can think abstractly about a few different things concurrently, though rarely do the less "vocal" ones get permission from the blowhards out in front.

What were those streams of thought saying?

Loud was talking about a system design that I was engrossed in. Quiet was drawing outlines of mind-shapes to broadcast elsewhere, which will solidify in time.

Of course, there are a few others streaming in the background, pretty easily heard, and acting as a sort of bass line for the others, keeping the beat, and setting the tone with a vibration, or a pace... the E string on the electric guitar. I like the current rhythm.

I've been lax in writing again. I've got a free hour on my transit every day... mornings can be difficult, but the way home is reasonable. I really have to devote an hour a day, or I lose discipline.

Don't call my eyes "visual receptors". "Eyes" works just fine. Keep it simple.

well don't give me no comic book sad looks no more
please don't use those same excuses you've used before
you told yourself so many times its ok
so eager to try but you just don't know how to come back down

and now you'll beat me up and break me down
hoping i don't come around
kick me when i'm on the ground
beat me up and break me down
hoping i don't come around
kick me when i'm on the ground

well how about those people
i know that you know the ones that i mean
not so good, not so bad, only know what they have
and they have only what they've seen
them mediocre bad guys can really bring you down
they cant be defeated
you know that they're never gonna come around

they just beat me up and break me down
hoping i don't come around
kick me when i'm on the ground
beat me up and break me down
hoping i don't come around
kick me when i'm on the ground

It was nice to see William Katt on my downloaded "faith healer" episode of House last night...but more fun was The most recent episode of Venture Brothers (20 hors until midnight). References to H.E.R.B.I.E., a strung-out Jonny Quest, and JJ getting the girl.

You scored as The Rowan. In Celtic astrology, you're a Rowan tree. The animal symbol that accompanies this tree is the dragon. The ancient Druids say Rowan people have powerful imaginations and are idealistic, progressive, humanitarian, spiritual and good with change. However, Rowans may be prone to restlessness, quarreling, impatience or aloofness.

I'm an Ash. Our top 3 are the same. I wish I could read the other outcomes.

My sense of timing has been out of whack for the last week as well. It should definitely be Friday today, if not Saturday!

Who's to say
What's impossible
Well they forgot
This world keeps spinning
And with each new day
I can feel a change in everything
And as the surface breaks reflections fade
But in some ways they remain the same
And as my mind begins to spread its wings
There's no stopping curiosity

I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I'll find the things they say just can't be found
I'll share this love I find with everyone
We'll sing and dance to Mother Nature's songs
I don't want this feeling to go away

Who's to say
I can't do everything
Well I can try
And as I roll along I begin to find
Things aren't always just what they seem

I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I'll find the things they say just can't be found
I'll share this love I find with everyone
We'll sing and dance to Mother Nature's songs
This world keeps spinning and there's no time to waste
Well it all keeps spinning spinning round and round and

Upside down
Who's to say what's impossible and can't be found
I don't want this feeling to go away

Please don't go away
Please don't go away
Please don't go away
Is this how it's supposed to be
Is this how it's supposed to be

Hey scotto-

I think it's really hard to write when you are working a lot. ( full time is a lot- i think part time is a lot when you have a creative practice on top of it)

That kind of work requires free time, and much of that free time needs to be spent NOT WRITING. The creative process needs down time, respite. So don't be hard on yourself.

Maybe take some sick days and make some headway on what your doing. Once you develop a rhythm and format it's easier to just chip away at your work in the free time.

Anyway, that's how it works for me!

Thanks! I think you're right, too... there are only so many ohurs in the day, and creative thought can sometimes be elusive, or needs to be thron at other situations.

"I've been lax in writing again"

Creative writing - or day-to-day journal writing?

I miss when you shared more of what was going on in your head - emotion-wise. Back in the day! Hehe. NO complaint from me really... I haven't shared in any way, in my journal for ages. :P Just saying I miss knowing more of what was up with ya!
