scottobear: (1 - time goes by)
[personal profile] scottobear

Last Summer day with Danny yesterday - Indian food, walkies and relaxation. spinach and cheese, some garlic flat bread, and samosas. A great time was had by us both, I think. Too much dinner, no room for ice cream.

Some pictures of boats at the cove, and a dewy self portrait at the bus stop in the humidity, post shower.

Moment of Lyric (mp3 with Spanish in the middle)

Hey, hovering sombrero
Gently waving in the air above the meadow
Softly floating in the sky outside the window
Hovering sombrero, don't be shy

Don't, don't be shy
Don't be terrified

When you take yourself for granted
Feel rejected and unwanted
Know you're never just a hat
You're never only just a hat, you know
Hovering sombrero, hovering sombrero

Si no tengo que algo
Yo dejo calle con todos si yo salgo
Voy andando por los paises buscando
Hovering sombrero, donde es?

Manejando, he mi montero
Quisiera en prueba de cantando
Quiero mucho mejor al mi cancion, ando
Pero siempre metro, la falta

When you take yourself for granted
Feel rejected and unwanted
Know you're never just a hat
You're never only just a hat

Ignore the voices in your head
That say "you worthless lying hat,"
(That said you were this flying hat)
You know you're never just a hat
You're never only just a hat, you know

(Rough translation of the Spanish part)
"If I don't have that something
I leave work behind with everyone if I leave
I go traveling for the countries that I like
Hovering sombrero, where are you?

"Driving, I have hunted myself
I would like to prove my singing
I want a lot of improvement in my song, I travel
But always the meter (measuring stick) is faulty."

I don't love you as if you were the salt-rose, topaz
or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:
I love you as certain dark things are loved,
secretly, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that doesn't bloom and carries
hidden within itself the light of those flowers,
and thanks to your love, darkly in my body
lives the dense fragrance that rises from the earth.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you simply, without problems or pride:
I love you in this way because I don't know any other way of loving

but this, in which there is no I or you,
so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand,
so intimate that when I fall asleep it is your eyes that close.

Neruda is an old favorite of mine. I'm not a fan of poetry usually but he can knock the wind out of a reader with very few words.

Klimt ain't too shabby either. I did this quiz but I must confess I'm better with visual poetry.

I think maybe you've never eaten tamarind (or maybe you have [and even love it you poor deluded sweetling] just ignore my further blather and skip to the last sentence). It's kinda pine-orangey with a sticky date or prune-ish aftertaste. Lots of candy was made with it in Mexico. There's one type I've seen here that is a blob of tamarind with chili powder in. It's packaged on a plastic-wrapped plastic spoon. Kind of like your mom scooped you out a bit on a spoon for a treat. There's also a pushup style that works like the Playdoh barber shop set.

I just really don't like it. :p bleh. Gimme a Duvalin!

It's a tri-flavor super soft taffy-like candy you eat with a little digging stick.. . Doesn't sound nearly as tasty in text! It doesn't show the back of the package or you'd see three stripes of candy set up like Neapolitan ice cream. Amazon has it listed as "gourmet"? o.o

The Mad Girl's Love Song by Sylvia Plath

To you, love is desperate and hateful. You're wildly passionate and wildly inventive. You're also likely to start stalking people.

I get the same one you got, if i'm willing to vacation in Paris...eh. I'll live with being a psycho girl. I wish I could actually read the poem...

vacation in paris? I chose a spiffy castle.

here's the poem -

Mad Girl's Love Song

By Sylvia Plath
"I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,
And arbitrary blackness gallops in:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed
And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

God topples from the sky, hell's fires fade:
Exit seraphim and Satan's men:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I fancied you'd return the way you said,
But I grow old and I forget your name.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

I should have loved a thunderbird instead;
At least when spring comes they roar back again.
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)"

anonymous scotto, or other random person?

(I think I made you up inside my head.)

oh boy is that me. yikes. sometimes i scare myself. yeah, the castle did me in. i guess i lean too far that way to start with, so that was the angsty drama that broke the meme's back.

maybe i'll wander off to the library for some sylvia plath...

Hi :) Is your icon a llama party? I really like it but it's hard to tell if it's a llama or a bunny the way it's cropped. The colors are delish.
