Two parter Dr. Who Episode "Satan Pit" didn't do much for me. It started off ok, and then sort of unraveled, until it got a quickie star trek last minute baloney ending.

Dang... is it only Wednesday? C'mon. I want to sleep in.

Moment of Lyric is from here. Good stuff. I needed some percussion to make me move. (mp3s at bottom of the entry)

Went through my AIM and snuffed out a lot of old contacts who I never see online anymore... I guess if they want to talk to me, they'll say hi. (That said, I kept a bunch, too, even though I don't usually appear online.)

I can hear the "magic ringtone" though I'm well past my teen years. ringtone mp3

Every time I start feeling low, I realize how much I've got going for me. I'm so far ahead of 99.9% of the planet, as far as comfort goes... I've got a home, climate control, health, Newt, the 'net, folks I can chitty chat with, LJ, etc. Not a bad world to live in.

Do you ever? Seems you've posted by 7:00 every day of the week since I've been reading. Of course I'm usually on much later so maybe I just didn't notice how much later you post on weekends?

well, I have to be up early for work, and on weekends, I have to be awake to at least switch phones for the techs. :)

That said, I have had my computer auto-post entries for me while I'm in the shower or whatnot.

I agree, The Satan Pit was quite a dissapointment in the end. Not sure about this week's either. Peter Kay can be a great comedian but in a weird serious role... I don't know.

Not sure what was up with that... nice effects, though!

Considering how selective my hearing usually is, I'm surprised I could hear any tone on that thing. Especially on my crappy laptop audio. I'll have to try it on my desktop later, since it's got the better system.

I'm equally surprised that Duncan didn't even blink at it. I've always been under the impression that high pitched noises bug dogs. Perhaps he couldn't hear it over his snoring... :)

Ahahaha...so your stuff posts automagically while you're scrubbin' your tushie! :D

I listened to the new teen alarm that runs teens off when they're loitering & whatnot. Adults are not supposed to hear it. In the journal where I listened to it, a ton of people replied to say they couldn't hear it, despite full volume. I heard it with my volume turned low.

So I'm curious about the ringtone you posted...I'll have to wait until later.

>>Every time I start feeling low, I realize how much I've got going for me.

I did that last night. I began moping about and minutes later reminded myself that I'm lucky to have all my limbs, no life threatening what-nots, have a roof over my head, etc...ETC.

yup!! I frequently put stuff in notepad, like linkies and random thoughts... and when the timer counts down to 6am... *launch*!

I'm surprised that I can hear the tone... I think that I'm making up for not hearing stuff on a lower register very well.

I'm glad you've got so many blessings, too... plus baby KITTIES!

I think that I'm making up for not hearing stuff on a lower register very well.

I wondered about that, too. My hearing problem has to do with low frequencies. When I heard the teen alarm, I wondered if there's been some compensation with higher frequencies, or if there just hasn't been any change in that arena, since I was tested as a 20-something.

Curious minds think alike! :0)

Yup! I'm sad that the baby kitties need homes now. I'm finding myself not being proactive, so that I can have one moreeee dayyyy with them. Every day. ;) I gotta get moving..people often shun older kittens, and adults.

it seems that most folks over 20 or so don't hear much, if anything.

The emperors new ringtone!

I could never see those hidden 3-D images you were supposed to see by staring into those paintings that had a brief surge of popularity about ten years ago.

I just played the ringtone for Pyewacket and he popped up out of a napping position to investigate. I suppose it sounded like a mouse to him.

I can hear the ringtone too...and its annoying as hell. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. A lot of machines and electronic equipment make sounds like that too. I'll be sitting with friends when something starts making that noise and I'll say "Gah, can you hear that?" and everyone will look at me like I'm crazy. So all these years of wearing earplugs to rock concerts, on airplanes, and while mowing the lawn has backfired! I need some traumatic hearing loss to keep the the world's buzzing TVs and PCs from driving me out of my mind!!

Date: 2006-06-14 02:02 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com
yeah.. it reminds me a bit of the high-pitched whine my old TV used to make... *ALL THE TIME*

When I was a teenager, we had a Sony Trinitron in the family room that made that evil sound intermittently. If I rapped on the top of the set with my knuckles, it would stop for a few minutes. And then my dad would yell at me that I was going to break the damned thing. But every time I tried to explain that the squealing noise was giving me a headache, he'd tell me I was full of crap.

So I guess we both found our super powers, huh? Drat! I wanted to be invisible....

From: [identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com
I noticed it most right after turning off the tv.... it's be a squeal for about 5 minutes or so, and then fade out.

Yeah, I got my power! I'm immortal! (so far)

I can *barely* hear the ring tone- but if i were a teacher in a class with 30+ students, I'd probably miss it.

Pretty bright idea, though!

From: [identity profile] legal-beagle555.livejournal.com
after reading the above comments, I do have a tendancy to hear electronic squeels other people miss- at the library gig, I occassionally have to pick up projectors, tv's etc that profs have used in class, and when you push 'em through the electronic sensors at the door, they cause it to squeel like that, but much lowder.

Co-workers looked at me like I was nuts when I complained about it. Ironically, they're all 5-10 years younger than me!

i get crazy looks at work for this stuff too. there is an electrical squeal/squeak up by the reception desk...i'm the only one who hears it.

Private Idaho - B-52s

Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo
You're living in your own Private Idaho
Living in your own Private Idaho
Underground like a wild potato.
Don't go on the patio.
Beware of the pool,
blue bottomless pool.
It leads you straight
right throught the gate
that opens on the pool.

You're living in your own Private Idaho.
You're living in your own Private Idaho.

Keep off the path, beware the gate,
watch out for signs that say "hidden driveways".
Don't let the chlorine in your eyes
blind you to the awful surprise
that's waitin' for you at
the bottom of the bottomless blue blue blue pool.

You're livin in your own Private Idaho. Idaho.
You're out of control, the rivers that roll,
you fell into the water and down to Idaho.
Get out of that state,
get out of that state you're in.
You better beware.

You're living in your own Private Idaho.
You're living in your own Private Idaho.

Keep off the patio,
keep off the path.
The lawn may be green
but you better not be seen
walkin' through the gate that leads you down,
down to a pool fraught with danger
is a pool full of strangers.

You're living in your own Private Idaho,
where do I go from here to a better state than this.
Well, don't be blind to the big surprise
swimming round and round like the deadly hand
of a radium clock, at the bottom, of the pool.

I-I-I-daho
I-I-I-daho
Woah oh oh woah oh oh woah oh oh
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah
Get out of that state
Get out of that state
You're living in your own Private Idaho,
livin in your own Private.... Idaho

Eccleston aka New Who starred in my 2nd favorite movie based on a Thomas Hardy novel Jude (based on Jude the Obscure). He also starred in one of my Dad's favorite movies Gone in 60 Seconds.
