SPIDER
The prophecy might actually come true
of the mysterious beginnings of our union
That dream of every color, I want to see it

"Ride On Shooting Star"
Chants a voice from my heart
Sometimes you don't want it
But it's always there

The grunge of a hamster
It's all that those adults see
The revenge of a lobster
It all comes with the territory

SNIPER
With all the ignorance in the world,
Tell me what you see
As I set my aim forward, I want to sit back

Ride On Shooting Star
I'm searching for you
The forbidden kiss of a girl
Was the lie I told

"Ride on shooting star"
Chants a voice from my heart
Sometimes you don't want it
But it's always there

Well, seeing as my lj is rapidly approaching it's sixth year of pretty much daily posts... what sort of knowledge can I glean from it?

some analysis in the form of graphs.

I'm not crazy about the new vet that took over Newt's old doctor's practice. I get a distinct "push sales of stuff" vibe, and I'm not going to gamble his health on someone I don't trust implicitly.

Spent the rest of saturday researching closer, more trustworthy cat-docs. There are a ton in the area, so I'm confident that a good one will turn up.

Danny came by unexpectedly at 3:30pm.. I returned home at 4pm. Why he didn't call me on my cell phone to say he was in the area is beyond me.

MooTube.com, the first 24/7 inside look at the daily life of Texas Longhorn cattle. Visitors to the site will get an exclusive, bovine's-eye-view, as wireless cow-cams, attached to the Longhorns' collars, reveal the day-to-day intrigues of life on the range.

Cool page, but way too much idiot flash.

 goods/services  4.2

The Mighty Heroes - I was really in love with cartoon as a kid.

"The Monsterizer"
One of the adventures of Rope Man, Strong Man, Diaper Man, Tornado Man and Cuckoo Man. In this installment, the Boris Karloff-like "Monsterizer" turns the city's prominent figures into monsters, and it's up to the bumbling Mighty Heroes to save the day!

"The Frog"
In this installment, they must defeat The Frog, who's flooded the city of Goodhaven in an attempt to steal cash.

Powers :
Well, they all can fly. That's handy.

Rope Man - Stretching, body of rope, later copied by the super globetrotters "Spaghetti man", Sailor
Strong Man - Very Strong, Can Fly, Clumsy Ox, Auto Mechanic
Diaper Man - Brains of the group, his bottle could be used as a throwing weapon, and the extremely elastic nipple at the top could be used to wrap the bottle around objects for retrieval or as a slingshot. The milk in it had rejuvenating properties, and was used to boost Strong Man's strength on more than one occasion.
Tornado Man - Turns into a human tornado. I don't recall him doing any big windy-power stuff.
To this day, I don't know what Cukoo Man's powers were (if any) outside of being able to fly, and knowledge of birds and/or timepieces.

If they ever learned to coordinate attacks, I never saw it happen.

Long, nosy quiz-meme via [livejournal.com profile] phillykat

Are you happy with your given name?
Sure. It's mine. I don't think I'd change it to anything else.

What is the one thing you like to do alone?
Clear my mind.

What's a major fear of yours?:
Hurting someone I care about.

Are you a pyromaniac?
Nope. Fire's pretty, but that's about it. So's water and rock crystals.

Do you know anyone famous?
How famous is famous? Marvin Hagler the boxer, via my dad, ages ago.

Describe your bed.
Dark wood headboard is nearly 40 years old, from my parent's original bedroom set. King size. two pillows, two blankets, over and undersheet, and a large coverlet. I rarely go deeper than the coverlet. It's reversible, one side is a floral print, the other, green and white checks. Firm Mattress.

What type of character would you play in a movie?
Some weird variant on Wilson from Tool Time. Or Ludo from Labyrinth. Someone with seemingly useless knowledge/skill that gets put to good use.

Momster.

Are you ready?
Um.. for what?

What is the last gift you gave someone?
Bought lunch for GG last week.

One thing I didn't like was that they presumed test takers owned a car and asked what MPG you get without a "don't own" option. I put in the best MPG possible- I do have a zipcar membership, so I guess I do on occassion contribute to smog. The worst of my transportation sins come from flying back to see my parents 3-4 times a year, though.

A brief musical interlude....

"Newt, Newt,
You're so cute.
I want to squeeze
your orange patoot!"

*ahem*

I have an eco footprint of 19, which is rather disconcerting....especially when you consider that I live in a smallish, 90 year old house with another person, I'm a vegetarian, I recycle and compost, and I don't drive more than absolutely necessary. I guess my dependence on foods from other places is partly to blame. But if you ate seasonally and locally in Wisconsin, you'd be awfully hungry through the winter months (and you'd get mighty sick of rutabaga, turnip, and moldy cheese stew). Or you'd need to be a full-time subsistence farmer.

If I rate a 19 on that scale, I'd hate to think what the typical meat- and junk food-eating, SUV driving, suburban McMansion owner would be. Do you think the result goes up to a zillion??

Aww... thank you for the Newtie-lovin'!

I agree.. I've seen some people with a footprint of 25-30, which seem to be the average on my reading list.

From: [identity profile] missv.livejournal.com
I just went back to calculate the "best case scenario"...

So, if I moved into a 500 square foot eco-home with no plumbing or electricity, I had 7 roommates, I never drove, flew, or used public transportation, I ate only locally grown organic foods, and I produced little or no garbage, then I'd be okay. Sounds great, huh? Lesse, 500 square feet divided by 8 people....I'd get a whopping 62 square feet of living space. That's a little smaller than my bathroom....and I'd have to get all my food for the winter stashed in there with me. Awesome!

Date: 2006-04-23 07:07 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com
see...you're nice.

I thought to myself..."Self, all we have to do is wipe out 7 out of every 8 people, and we're good to go!"

well, let's do 14 out of every 15... that way I can have microwave burritos.

Date: 2006-04-23 07:18 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] missv.livejournal.com
I wonder if we'd get bonus points for eating people?? They would, of course, be locally grown...

Lots of preservatives, but you could certainly recycle the clothing!

Actually, cannibalism is a low return investment.. the higher on th efood chain you go, the bigger the feed support needed. Perhaps wholesale slaughter and composting is a better route.
