Kirby is an odd artist for me. When I was younger I didn't care for his work, over time I came to appreciate it. Even so there are aspects of his blocky style that bother me and others that just blow me away. Another, much lesser known comicbook artist who's oddly posed style bothered be as a kid but now looking back at it I really dig was Frank Robbins who did Cap and the Falcon for a while as well as the The Invaders but is perhaps best known for his Johnny Hazard syndicated strip and apparently batman too.
I agree... I *really* had no interest in the new gods at all, too.
I recognise robbin's work, but not his name. His style didn't do anything for me with cap, but i sort of liek it for th e"steve canyon / jarhead" sort of comics.
