The people of Hialeah are idiots. (See the political record for the last 24 years.) A long term case of "we'd rather have corrupt criminals we know than a possible unknown quantity".

Big Kahuna's B'day today... maybe that's why she had a case of the grumps yesterday. She'll be 67 today, I think, and I figure that she's got a solid two decades ahead of her, at least. Sadly, I don't see more than a decade (and that's probably generous) for her husband though.

Rhode Island was due back on Monday, and as of end of day yesterday still hadn't come back. Rumors flying over the office of her quitting, but I doubt it. My suspicions are that she's just stretching it out as far as possible.

Muslim Mona quit tech-work yesterday... I guess her real-world job, plus family, plus health just didn't allow for four days a month. She'll be missed... was probably the most competent tech I had. En's really solid, too...only a couple of boo-boos here and there. Phoenix's getting her first training today at 1pm, barring schedule issues.

My vacation is pretty much whenever I schedule it. I'd like to take about a week off in the near future, even if I don't do anything but explore my new environment in depth. Of course, the trick is to actually be able to schedule a week off and have nobody from work call me.

I'm not really that "sad-boo hoo" per se, more like a melancholy.

I have a touch of the melancholy too. I don't suppose you could just turn off the phone during vacation? Let them see how much you do for them? You know that you're always welcome to a West Coast visit, right? Newtie too. You could try reading my Bedtime Story post. Have you been to Islands of Adventure in Orlando yet? They've got a really nifty Spiderman 3-D ride. Not cheesy in the least. If you go to Epcot, be sure to see their 3-D movies, too! The last one I saw there was "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids". A *gigantimo* dog stuck his snoot out of the movie screen, lolled his tongue out..and then sneezed on the audience. They had it so that you actually felt his sneeze, thanks to water droplets.

I haven't been on the superhero rides yet! (I'd probably dig 'em even if they were cheesy.)

I'll feel better once dust has settled and thanksgiving has moved into the "feed me!" stage. ;)
