GeotargetI could go for a moon cake. I missed the Moon Festival about a month or two back. I may start visiting the Morikami more often again, now that I'll be a bit closer.

Thought I saw Pam M. yesterday, but I don't think it was her. Hard to say, since it's been a decade or so... but I don't think that she's the type to ever wear tank tops and shorts in public... but who knows? A lot can happen to a person in twelve-ish years. If it had been her, I'd have liked to say hello, and have my curiosity satisfied a bit. I wonder if moving closer to the Boca area will cause me to stumble across more folks from the past? The D's are in Georgia now, and who can say where much of the rest of that crew has toddled off to.

Well, I've watched the Doom Patrol/ BoE episodes of Teen Titans.. I think they did a decent job. The Brain was a little Dalek-y, but that's reasonable. What I wasn't expecting was a regular voice for Cliff, or the Steven Wright dry blandness of Larry. Rita was fine, and Mento was the mostly-jerk as I recall him to be. I think that Cliff's voice as a normal gruff guy was better than a robo-sounding one. Made him a bit more human. I wonder if the Chief will show up later on?

Doing what I can to prevent world and local politics from getting me down. It's hard. I thought the lesser of two evils was bad, four elections ago, and it's only getting worse every time. I've heard from people that blindly follow Hillary Clinton, just because she's a woman and a democrat. I've never seen her give a good speech...I'd have thought a lawyer would have some solid public speaking skills. She does not inspire trust. She's not a credible military leader, and I don't see her pulling troops out of Iraq anytime soon, regardless. I think that she could win an election in '08, but it would be for the wrong reasons... and liberal dems would get mighty pissed, once the dust settled.

I feel that a woman or a black person could become president. (I think a military background for either would make it easier for the American Public to accept them)

I'm sure in my heart of hearts that a publicly self-proclaimed gay or atheist could not possibly win the office at this point in time.

I'm rambling. It doesn't matter who gets elected, the giant iguanas that actually run this country wouldn't let a prez implement any real change anyhow.

Hm, fairly well-balanced, I guess. Fun/Family/Health. Though I put a high value on love.

Fun is most important in your life.

A black or woman president would be a nice thing I think. Though I feel that a woman would have a better chance than a black person though. I might be wrong but America still seems to have a segregationist bent towards high end politicians from where I sit.

I suspect that you're right.. a white woman could probably win more easily than a black man, all other things being equal... though I think if the black man had a strong military background it would tip things in his favor. (even if the woman also had a strong military background)

If you get a woman president, I just hope she's better than the woman PM that we had. Oh boy.

Nope... I think that she even scares our republicans a bit. :)

Besides, she'd have to be native born to be prez... sorry Arnie!

In all honesty, I think McCain would be a better president than Hillary would. I get a sense of integrety from him that I don't from other members of either party.

I don't know if he has me snowed, but he geninely seems to be a pretty solid citizen, unlike Bush, Hillary or any of the rest of recent (and possible future) crews.

The downside of him is that he's not about being an authority, he's about resisting it. I'm not sure how well that'd fly in the presidency... the Senate may be the best place for hime.

I can't imagine the Dems running Hillary as a serious candidate just yet. I think she might run just to warm her up for a 2012 bid but I really think we're looking at a McCain/Kerry race. What would be interesting would be a Kerry-Clinton ticket. That could be all the push he needs.

I think it's funny that George Pataki is seeking nomination mainly because he knows he can't beat Hillary in 2006.

Oh, well, if it came to McCain/Kerry, I think that McCain would probably take it. I suspect that a Kerry-Clinton might actually help 'em both out quite a bit, I agree.

Lets Keep Jeb Bush our of there!

I've run into numerous people who plan to vote for Hilary because she's a woman. That's disappointing. Oddly enough, a couple of them are people who admonish others for simply voting party lines...but they can't see the parallel in voting for someone based simply on sex. Sad.

-I don't trust Hillary as far as I can throw her. I voted for her husband, though.
-Regarding her speeches, I wonder if she has, or would in the future choose to use whomever helped Bill write his speeches? Because her speeches are rather uninspiring.
-I do not like how Hilary uses the "What do you, the people, think about this?", way at times. That bothers me for *numerous* reasons.

I really wish Colin Powell would run. I've had great respect for him for *19 years*. Specifics would take too long.

I know some are hoping Condi will run against Hilary. Wow, what an election with two females, huh? Would be interesting! I would need to do more research on her, I suspect many others would too, but probably won't. I've two black friends who are Democrats, who say they would cross party line & vote for her because she's black, & because she's a woman. Even if Hilary runs! It's a quagmire out there, yeah?

McCain....I'm very familiar with him from living in Arizona. I've always liked listening to him speak, but have wondered if he's a little too friendly for some? He sent me a letter when I joined the military almost a decade ago. I still have it. :)) Two weeks ago I watched an interview where he said he doesn't know if he will run, but for now, no. He's showing up all over the place in interviews lately, though!

I would *really* dig it if Colin Powell would run, too. There are a ton of points in his favor that could actually help him to win, too. Not just military service, either.. he's shown a lot of utility and resourcefulness while being reasonably honorable over the years. That's no easy feat.

Condi vs Hillary. Oh, that makes my tummy hurt. Mainly because I don't trust *either* of 'em at all, at all. Neither Rice nor Hillary have interests of the people in mind. If your black friends think that Rice has any interest more than a token assist to the black community, they're very probably sorely mistaken.

Hillary's Speeches are some of the worst I've ever heard... very flat and wooden. I have trouble seen any but the most politically devout actually thinknig that she has any skill in that arena.

McCain seems to be a pretty honorable and nice guy (I feel he must have some dirt in his closet... he's a polititian, after all, but I've not seen anything significant), plus he has that whole POW thing going for him. Keeno deal on the letter from him!

It would surprise me if he didn't throw his hat into the ring after feeling things out a bit more. As for interviews, he is the most "non-meanie" repub findable.

Wowee, you dig Colin Powell, too. :0)

The interview with McCain recently was really nice. He's not *crazy* divisive. Wouldn't surprise me if he throws his hat in either. After the part where he said that for now, he is saying no, he went on to say that he thinks politicians on either side mentioning too early that they may run, color themselves. He was asked who he thought would run on the dem side & republican side, and he said something like, "People shouldn't underestimate Hilary (auggh), & I believe there are going to be several Republicans who are going to step in." Interesting.

"If your black friends think that Rice has any interest more than a token assist to the black community, they're very probably sorely mistaken."

I think you are very right on that. I have seen them, and many others I've know more as acquaintences, choose a good many things in their lives, soley based on it having something to do with color. I don't like that division either... I always say "humans as a whole guys...c'mon!", but they just chuckle about that. ;)

Was reading some of the comments above about a Kerry/Hilary ticket. Oh man...that is extremely upsetting. Not joking either. I would rather see Hilary *without* Kerry, any day. I have never...ever, disliked another candidate as much as I do Kerry. Not on the democrat side or the republican side. Kerry after the election, "Is it the way I look?" I almost thought I was reading the Onion when I read that comment from him. :/

I suffered with "Kerry's Not as bad as bush" syndrome, but that's not saying much... like "A punch in the nose isn't as bad as a punch in the eye". The "Is it the way I look" comment just sealed the deal.

I'll be interested in seeing who goes where, but really hope that HRC waits until 2012, at least. (preferably until 2112.)

As for divisive, I'd love for someone to clarify what the "log cabin" gay republicans think that they're able to accomplish.
