May. 20th, 2001 02:32 pmAstley's wife called (the big lazy wuss-boy couldn't do it himself) and she said that *she* will be bringing the machine by in the next hour.
I wonder if he's that busy, or that much of a coward to be sending his wife in his place. (I imagine he knows I won't lecture her or even growl at her... she's not the one who let me down.) I hope that the machine will be up to par, but I imagine not. Possibly that's why he sent his wife too, so she can bug out before I can test it and she won't know/have any of my money.
I'll know in the next little while... at least she's reliable, timewise.
I'm trying hard to think of something positive to say about Astley, to balance out my recent numeration of his defects...
hmm... nothing good comes to mind about his business practices save for that he serves as a good example of 'what not to do'...
He is a nice guy, laid back, and loves his kids. Those are all good traits. :)

May. 20th, 2001 07:17 pmHas anyone actually seen Clutch? http://us.imdb.com/Title?0159364
very bizarre...
This Canadian movie is about an occult loser thief who nabs a magic book for his murderous patron. During the heist he kills the owner and leaves the body with his uptight brother and his internet-porn addicted roomie. On the way to make the delivery, his car breaks down and he has to get help from a female mechanic with lots of baggage. Lots of weirdness ensues, especially when people start reading the Book.
Paradoxes:
A Bibliophile who refuses to read.
A Mechanic who refuses to ride inside cars (this becomes a problem for her kidnappers when they are forced to drive slowly while she walks outside the car).
Cameo:
Tom Green as The Computer Gimp(!) who throws a fit when someone dares bring a book into his cybercafe.
Things that happen just as folks who play an RPG would try to do them:
Attempt made to hide a corpse by blowing it up with dynamite on a beach
Tazering a Priest when caught in the apparent act of necrophilia
Using a Prince song for a eulogy at Skinhead funeral service
