Yet another reason I keep the space in my last name.

Icelandic wordplay: vonbrigði means "disappointment", but von brigði means "hope alteration".

Maybe not as good as Manslaughter / Mans Laughter or Therapist / The Rapist, but that is my family's taken name over there.

So how do you spell it in English?

I wish my name meant something cool. Helen means "light" or "bringer of light" and Joan means "chosen by God" or something but that just makes me sound like a zealot pyromaniac. ;)

it's just a cleaned up Germanic - "von Berg" which can also mean "From/on the Mountain"

Gregory Prescott von Berg means -

"The Guardian of the Church on the Mountain" in one interpretation.

Bringer of light chosen by God can also mean spiritual illumination, which can be mighty keen. :)
