scottobear: (Prisoner Quiz)

I'm going to rework this meme a bit.

name 3 things that really irritate you...

#1 - Folks that don't pay attention to where they're going. I'm the size of a house, but some people still barrel into me. I sometimes wonder if it's because I'm *so* large that folks consider me part of the scenery, like a wall. Maybe I just look like the most comfy thing to slam into, like a giant, fuzzy airbag.

#2 - People who don't listen... but instead are caught inside thier own heads,  spitting out noise, but not taking any info to build an informed opinion/knowledge base. Disagreeing with me is fine, but at pretending to listen isn't. When I tell you that the stove is hot and then complain when you've been burned is a good way for me to drop my respect.

hm, so, I guess you could lump those two into "the willfully unaware".

#3 - People who wreck my outdoors. I've wanted to punch smokers who flick butts onto the ground rather than proper disposal. I'm pretty non-confrontational for the most part, but if I see someone wad and toss a piece of paper to the ground, I'll pick it up and flag 'em down. "Excuse me, you dropped this."

name 3 things that really delight you...(I added this, to kill the negative vibe)

#1 - Good Conversation.  Interaction with someone else, especially where both sides learn something or share a special memory is priceless. Sadly, most internet conversation isn't up to that par... D00D! (Close to, but not quite the opposite of #2 above) Sometimes, it'll surprise you. I've had a lot of good fortune with some internet conversations over the years. It's not hard to find wheat rather than chaff.

#2 - Non-human Primates. Man, Monkeys just make me smile. As long as they're not scary monkeys with a straight-razor or something. Then, they make me laugh. Falls almost into the "things that are so ugly that they're beautiful" catagory, except that  baby chimps, orangutans and the like are genuinely cute.  Something about them just touches the gut. People, but not really.

#3 - Walking can be a great joy... taking in the world. There's always something beautiful to see, and it tends to crop up in unusual places. A lizard running on the sidewalk, pretty girl in a bikini,  tile/shadow partterns, who knows... I've always seen something that made the walk worthwhile.

I don't tag anyone specific, but I would like to see the results for those that do take and run with this meme.

I apologize in advance for #1. I am a total klutz. I often trip over my own feet. Except in rare cases with friends, I have never meant to crash into anyone but I have done it more times that I can count. For when we meet in the future and you make me orange tofu, I apologize in advance for my klutziness and seeming inability to stay upright for any length of time. -lol-

well, if you're doing it because you're a klutz, and not because you're oblivious, no problem. :)

I'll be careful to keep stuff in a sealed container!

Save the Tofu!

I'm definitely not oblivious- I usually know right before I'm about to topple over and will hold out my arms while looking at you with a mixture of "I'm so sorry", "I'm so embarassed", and "please break my fall!" -lol- Sealed containers are pretty much a must around me. ;) Poor [livejournal.com profile] poormattie has had his toes stepped on and been crashed into numerous times. Unless I'm dancing, I have 0 coordination!

That's ok.. I'm sure Mattie is more than delighted to have such a sweet klutz on his hands (and toes!)

Litterers drive me nuts too. I've been in many situations where people don't take kindly when I call them on dropping trash.

Same here... I've had more than a couple people get lippy about it, too.

So, might I ask, how large is you really? I mean, would I need my hiking boots to chat witchoo? I'm 5'0" and let me tell you, I'd never barrel into you. (you'd smudge my loverly MAC make-up):))

I have always been an avid walker. Clears my head and I love seeing how people tend to thier lawns and garden's.

I don't smoke, but I hate when folks throw butts, still lit, out the car window.

I have never done a meme in my journal...how boring is that?

I'm a pretty big beastie. Just about 6'6" and 300ish lbs. We'd do well to gab sitting at a table. :)

not boring at all.. you just had other things to gab about!

Walking does wonders to clear the head... I feel much better after a stroll.

firey-butts are extra punchworthy!

Holy LARGNESS, Batman!! Like climbing Mt. Everest. How cool is that? I come from the longest line of short folks. I have one brother who is 5'6" and we consider him the tall guy in the family. My Darlink is 6'4" and I think his neck hurts alot. ;-)

Sadly, I am a crasher too. I am constantly finding bruises that would seem like the aftermath of a collision that I would remember, but no. Litterbugs suck, I agree. You definitely don't seem like part of the scenery...that can't be it. I kinda like the airbag theory, but maybe put nicer.

I KNOW!!! So impressive. Plus, hugs tell alot about a person, and you give real ones. Not the patting or thumping kind.

you're quite the fine hugger, too! :D

Thank you. At the risk of stating the obvious, hugs are good.

dear Scottobear... personally I would like to think that people bump into you in the hope of getting a sneaky hug out of it! You just seem to be the sort of person who would be good at hugs. Like a big fuzzy airbag, with arms and a friendly face.

as for people wrecking your outdoors - that annoys me too. The most horrible thing for me is walking round town and getting stuck behind someone that's smoking and I can't get past them.

I am a good hugger, but no need to sneak 'em, just gimme a hug and you're set!

maybe you should get a t shirt printed up, so that people know they don't need to accidentally bump into you!

I agree--I think people are running into you on purpose!!
You have a gravitational pull!

I think I might be a #2 type person. My mind tends to have a million things running through it these days and it just won't be quiet sometimes. I have many friends I love very much but they are all big talkers and honestly finding someone who I could just be quiet with for a while----someone who doesn't feel the need to fill the silence would be a bit refreshing.

I also think people who throw their cigarette butts out the window are very low on the good karma scale. That irritates me to no end.

I don't get irritated often but when I do it generally cneters around mankind's thoughtlessness.
However I'm constantly delighted by life---everyday I find something that make sme laugh or astounds me---it balances out all the crap and negativity out there very well!
